Boss Cars and bonus upgrades

I have so many races beaten but i have the corvette boss car and 2 bonus upgrades. I have about 5 sets completely done. Can i redo boss races to win the cars? what do i do about the bonus upgrades? this game is so confusing... no step by step walkthrough on how to win stuff... everybody is saying that you win the boss races and you get the car or you complete a set and you get a bonus upgrade... no such luck on that
