Okay, I decided to go up against an old nemesis of mine - The Death Roller (100)

My character had changed quite a bit since I last fought it, having readjusted my stats somewhat, and gotten better equipment, so I wasn't sure I'd fair, especially against it's Death Roll, which I could never outgun. But for this fight, I decided to go for broke and see what my character could do.

I started equipped with The Obsidian Cloak, Nightmare Shield, and Power Katana, whilst having Galanoth as my guest and the Deadeye Cupid as my pet (I do love it when an enemy is frozen for 2 turns), but as it turned out she didn't play much of a part.

For four turns I used the Undead Mutant ability, whilst the Death Roller used it's Death Roll for the four turns (it went first) and outpointed it each turn, with a healthy 409 hp's still in the bank.

With the equipment my character has, can anyone suggest a better strategy?

What about defensive strategy:

So this way all your defences will look like:

This way:
You have fairly high ranged defence (57) for Death Roller's ranged light attack. Moreover you have bonus to your Dex of +15, which aditionally will benefit blocking rate.
You have fairly low darkness element modifier (50%), which means when you got hit by its melee darkness attack, you will take only half of the damage.

Weapons:
As you do not have a freezing weapon like IK/EIK/UIK or NmM, I would suggest that you stick with pure damage. Use the Power Katana for that purpose.

Guests:
I would suggest that you use Summon Krenos spell, to use Krenos as your guest. As alternative try Summon Daymio from Paladin class for its multihit attack and healing ability.

Pets:
As you have already said, the Deadeye Cupid did not stunned the roller enough times, so that you to benefit from it.
I would suggest that you try using your Big Clone as it does pretty good ammount of damage and is not dependant of CHA.

Spells:
Appart from summoning of a guest, I would suggest that you save your mana for Heal Wounds.

P.S. Is this monster a Void-only/Guardian-only one? Cause I just fight vs. lvl.30 of it (Epic Quest), but it is not a great challenge.

P.P.S. As alternative you may try to charge Lay On Hands of the Paladin class, so that you can fully heal yourself.

P.P.P.S. Also considering your stats, especially 130 STR, you would benefit from damage bonus from the GateKeeper armour.

I have just beaten it (100 lvl. version) with my Nightmare set (never succeeded to freeze it, but anyways). It seems that Galanoth and Dragonslaying stuf triggers vs. this enemy, so that it must be a dragonkind, which is strange, but anyways.

I think it's pot luck which version you get - I've faced both the lower level and higher level version twice each today. I'll give the defensive strategy a try

I've just tried the defensive way, with the GateKeeper Armour, NMS, Power Katana, HoRD, Krenos, and Big Clone.

Damage received from the Death Roller was about the same, which seemed weird. After 5 turns, I was down to 300 hit points and the Death Roller was on 550. I spent the next three turns healing myself, whilst Krenos and the Clone did some damage, and I ended up on 350 HP's after that.

I attacked for another turn, before using a healing potion - Krenos and the Clone managed to do some good damage that turn, and I finished him off with about 60 hit points left.

Checkout if poison dragon ability of dragonslayer class works on it.

That is SO weird. All the Dragonslayer abilities work against it as if it were a Dragon...

I actually beat it a while ago, thanks to my Eye of Naab and Divine Magic!
