I'm shocked by Spiderman 2 review,look and see the DS version review.Can you believe this the DS version better than the PSP version I can't believe it.

I'm shocked Spidey 2 the game even scored that well. All the myraid console/PC Spidey games have been HORRIBLE!!! And that's coming from a huge fan. I read 2 Spidey comic titles each month and have wasted $ on each Spidey game in the hopes that it won't suck as bad as the last. For once I'm going to pass.
I'd explain the slightly higher score for this game on DS as it obviously stood out better against those games than the PSP version did amongst some much better games for that system.

There are definitely problems with Activision's Spidey games but I would not call them total crap. I loved the first Spider Man the Movie game even though there was no free roam. I also thought that Spidey II was a VERY ambitious game, modelled after GTA in terms of the free roam and total access to Manhattan plus lots of side missions. The big problem with Spidey II though was that the gameplay was insanely repetitious, and the challenges became so ridiculously hard that getting 100% completion was not feasible.

I played the PSP Spider-Man and I have to say that there are things about it I don't like, but for a portable Spidey game it is pretty damn nifty! I hate the camera, although I have hated the camera's in all Spidey games. But overall I am having fun with the game, and while it probably deserves the 7's it is getting (as all Spider-Man games for the latest consoles do) that is because Activision refuses to go the extra mile and do things like:

1. Fix the Camera issues

2. Come up with a slightly more evolved combat system where you don't need or want to "Button mash" your way through the game.

3. They should have made the PSP version more free roaming and less linear, but I understand why they didn't.

4. They need to fix a few glitches in the "webbing" systems that have been there basically since the first PS2 version of the game was released.

5. A very interesting problem with the PSP version (not as much with other Spidey games) seems to be a strange difficulty to center the camera and the Lock on targetting mode is as CRAPPY as it was way back in Spidey I on the PS2.

I will say one thing though:

I have BOTH the DS version and the PSP version and to be honest, there is NO COMPARISON!! The DS version is PURE GARBAGE! They actually made it a Side-Scroller!!! Can you believe that?? A Side scroller?? The Sega Genesis had a Side Scrolling Spider-Man game waaaaaaaay back in the early Nineties!

There is just no excuse for this toxic waste in modern gaming! The PSP version, even with all of its flaws, is LIGHT YEARS better than the DS version. Basically, I would give the PSP version about a 7.2 so far (overall) and the DS version I wouldn't give a 4! It is really that bad.

I guess this is one of the many reasons why the PSP is better. And the Spiderman for the PS2 was actually really good. Some reason I can't get past the level with Doc Oc where you need to disable the wires or something like that. Oh and it's for the 2nd time you need to do it.

You are not talking about the first Doc Ock level where you have to save the victims before diabling the reactor right? I am assuming you mean the level where he unmasks himself and you first have to destroy all the switches and then fight Ock?

Let me know which level you are talking about and I will try to walk you through it.

The PSP version is 3d and MUCH MUCH better. The PSP version is a lot like the FIRST Spider-Man the Movie game on all three consoles. While the DS version is like a SEGA Genesis or N64 Spider-Man game.

Don't believe everything you read. If you must, then try both games, and you will decide for yourself, but this is one instance where I have to say that I would LOVE a hit of the crack these so called "Pro Reviewers" are smoking!

I'm a big Spidey fan, and I am loving this PSP title, except some of it is stupidly hard. I am currently stuck on Doc Ock. It's a pity that the good ol' narrator won't help me, because I am fumbling around getting my arse kicked by possibly the worst version of Mysterio yet waiting for my head to glow blue. Ah well. Poor Spidey doesn't get many good games, although the X-Men and Spidey game on the SNES is alright, although it to is stupidly hard, as most Spidey games have been. Like where you run out of web but you need it to complete the mission, and it doesn't come back...that was a gameboy game...that was awful.

Well, I guess you're right but still it's annoying how the reviewers talk shit and try and stop you from getting the game.
