Worth wasting souls on?

If you're lazy, and don't like to read my reasons, scroll to the bottom of the post. Look for the red font.

Okay, I got this game a few days ago. This has been a question on my mind. Is there a point to the other weapons? I just killed the boss who can freeze time, and I'm level Fourty-Seven.

Now, my equipment is as follows. (Not bothering with souls.) Great axe, War Fatigues, and Black Belt. Mainly because, I go for more attack and strength, rather than defence, because I just let potions and food take care of my wounds.

Okay, here's the point I'm trying to get to. Is there a point to the other weapons? I do around 140 damage, average with my Great Axe. I have other weapons, but the only other one I use, is the Tomahawk, because it doesn't stop at a point like the Guns. I prefer one hitting opponents rather than hitting them more than once. Is there even a need for the other weapons? Ever since I got the Battle Axe from a creature, and decided to test it, it was my weapon of choice. Which, later I evolved. Its powerful, and despite it's speed, can be used extremely well if you know how to position yourself. I defeated the zombie-like dinosaur, and the time warp guy, in probably under 20 seconds. (I used Buhr or whatever on the dinosaur, and I unleash the Great Armor soul when I fight.)

Now, I like using the other weapons, such as the Whip Sword is fun, and so are the fist weapons, but do I really need to waste the souls on them? Is there a point to them? Will I kill better with a Longsword, or will my Great Axe work just as well? I just find no point to weapons such as the Fists, Longswords, Hammers, etc. The axes are overpowered in my opinion.

I'm thinking of just selling all my other weapons to get the 300,000 ring. I've said all this, because I want to know, is there an enemy in the game, thats immune to the axe, perhaps? Don't think I have trouble on enemies, because the axe works just fine. I jump to hit most enemies, so I can dodge attacks, or hit multiple enemies at once. Also, I use my souls to good use to get the job done. So, will I need my other weapons, or can I sell them like planned?

Also, what does the ring do? I expect it to be good, since it will cost me 300,000 coins just to get it. Final question: Is there a point to releasing souls? At first, I released them, because I thought the "---" was my empty space left, so I released things to get more, until I noticed, it's just to get your inventory empty. So, what does the ring do? Also, what are some good weapons to look for? I don't mind it being weak, just some cool weapons. Also, I can't remember which it was, but in one Castlevania game I shortly played, the character used a Whip, which could change it's element type, or way it did damage. Is there a weapon like it? And no, the Whip Sword isn't like it, since I got that, and was dissapointed.

Point of this:
  • I use the Great Axes, since they do lots of damage. I do great with it. Is there an enemy that is immune to the axe, or is hard to battle against with the axe? Otherwise, I'm just going to sell all my spare weapons.
  • What does the $300,000 ring do?
  • Is there a weapon like a whip? (Other than the Whip-Sword.)

Don't sell them yet. The claymore upgrade to the end is also awesome. Since the last stage of the Axe weapon is the Death Sytche, abd that has a dark affinity, you might also want a powerful light affinity weapon like Claimh Solais. Keep the mace as well, as well as the spear. Their upgrades have electric properties, and Mjollinjer(sp?), the mace form can hit multiple times. The Best weapon in the game though, is the last stage of the sword. It is Vallmanway, and it hits super-fast and does pretty good damage, and you can also do it while moving.

The 300,000 $ ring, or the Soul Eater Rng, doubles your chance of getting a soul after killing it.

No actual whip that you can cntrol in Soma's story, but in Julius Mode, Julius has a whip...

    re: Worth wasting souls on?

I think that some weapons souls purpose is to make cash from. Since some will upgrade to something that you find later. I now have 2 fragarach swords (sp?) which upgraded from 2 different souls. Upgrading some are easy ways to cash in, and a quicker way to get the soul eater ring,(don't have it yet) but in previous game it makes harder souls easier to get, and having ghost dancer and that ring will help also.

Plus when you get your soul eater ring, you'll get those wasted souls right back.
