Yeah, unfortunately you won't be able to hurt it more than one point ever.

Thankfully there is a soul that will help you out, if you can get the Imp Soul, it makes it so the enemy dies when it runs out of MP, not HP, and it doesn't have much MP, so you should be able to truck them pretty easily after that.

Actually, the skull archer can do 16 damage if you fully charge it but it wastes a lot of mp.

Get Behind Him And Use That Crasy Thunder Hammer. (3 Damage)

You know the boss rush mode. First, get the terror bear weapon before fighting it and then go to where the iron golem is. The terror bear should do about 7-8 damage a swing due to the rapid strike from the iron sand in it.

Forget all that.
The best way to kill Iron golems, is to use the Kaiser Knuckles, (3 damage x2, quicker than Mjollinr) and equip dead pirate, so you can do more damage from behind.
Fly behind the sucker, and punch away. Takes no time

Equip Three 7's, Soul Eater Ring, Kaiser Knuckle, Imp, Bat Company, Dead Pirate. You can replace Soul Eater Ring with Shaman Ring.
In a room in the Demon Guest House, or one of the other areas with all the chandeliers, in the upper left there is a 1x1 room. Enter it, and immediately Hippogryph to the roof, and use Bat Company. Fly over the Iron Golem, and drop out of Bat Company. Face the Iron Golem and backdash so you are against the wall. Activate Imp. When the Golem steps back, punch it from against the wall. When it steps forward, walk forward and punch it. When you see it stepping back, backdash once or twice so you are against the wall. This way, you kill Iron Golems really fast, and take minimal damage.

Dead Pirate, kaiser Knuckles, and friggin Curry guys! The waiter skeleton soul curry thing stays at his feet for awhile, and can constantly do 2 damage if you place it right.

And also the easier and faster way of getting behind him is having that barrel throwing skeleton's soul (can't remember the name) and using puppet master. He throws it far enough to get behind him without taking damage. Then drop a curry, and whail on the back of his nads.

get an iron golem soul and beat the other golem with its twin

or get the nunchucks from boss rush mode and beat the crap out of it in like 10 seconds

Apparently I'm the only one that likes using Valmanway. Yes, it doesn't deal allot of damage, but it's wicked fast and offers a good distance. Also can be chained for up to four hits

With Iron Golems it's all about how fast you can hit them, not how strong the weapon is. At best, you'll never deal more than four points of damage per hit (Claimh Solais with Dead Pirate soul equipped is easiest).

Kaiser knuckles seems to be prefered, but to me that puts you too close to the enemy, so I use Valmanway as a substitute. Also tried the guns, but the problem with those is that the golem likes to move off-screen for them.
