Micro management skills FAQ (Last update : 9-11-03)

Well, I am starting this so for anybody that is new can look at it and hopefully use this tutorial as something to help them out.

A good thing to do when you start the game is to get 2 workers on the mine, get food, altar then mine after altar is done. Get only a few workers, maximum workers is 5 on gold, and max on lumber should be 8 unless you are Night Elves then you should have 16, but 16 is just to earn regular harvest time. After all these are done, get barracks or a unit making building, or, if you want to go tech, just get a lumber mill or a upgrading center. An easy way to micro manage on this is to just build it right next to the trees.

Always have a maximum limit on where to build. What I usually do is just take my finger, and I give it a measurement, usually I build 2 inches max out of my main building. So never go too far from your main building if you dont want to be unprotected. A good way to do it is get the ziggaruts, wells, farms or whatnot is to put it around the mines, so if you get harassed, they have to get through the building first, unless they are projectile summoners.

Defense. A easy way to defend is to build or upgrade to projectile buildings. A quick way is to usually do it before the first night in the game. A easy thing to do is put it behind the mine so when a harasser comes, they will have to worry about something hitting them while attacking the buildings. Also put defenses around your buildings to keep it from being attacked. If you are humans, make 2 farms and put 2 towers behind it, or if you are Night elf, get ancient of wars and put them right next to your unit making buildings. If you are human, use the guide I explained. If you are Undead, then just make ziggarots right next to the gold mine.

Which unit? This is probably the most interesting time you will have. Which units do you pick? Well, I usually get something that is a main attacker, like I get Crypt feinds if I want to mass out or I get air if I just want to attack the main base from behind.

Upgrading is key. Upgrading is probably the most important thing to do. Even 1 upgrade can make a huge difference! 10 level 3 upgraded Archers versus 20 Unupgraded archers will kill all 20 of the unupgraded archers without much loss if you know how to use them.

Well, I hope this has helped you on learning how to micromanage.

Yes, there will be updates to it. Updates are on the top and you will see a notice on it too!
