Ok I'm not the best on computers, actually i don't really have a clue? But i like to play some games.My friend let me borrow WarCraft III - Reign of Chaos but I'm having trouble.I cant play the game i installed it and everything but when i go to play it it says WarCraft III was unable to intilaize Direct X. Please ensure you have Direct X 8.1 or newer installed and that your display drivers are current. Direct X may be found on your WarCraft III install cd under options. So after that i downloaded Direct X 9.0 the newest one and it says the exact same thing.Can someone please help.Thanks.

Also after i installed Direct X 9.0 my windows media player wont work and i cant listen to music so if you could help me on that to it would be much appreceated.Thanks.

what video card do you have?


you can check it by selecting "RUN" in your start menu, then typed in "dxdiag" and press enter, a window named direct x diagonous tools will comes up and you screen might flicker a few times, which is normal.


Now click on the above tap "display", then look and see what video card you have and check the amount of video memory your card have.

*you'll need at least 8mb of video memory in order to run this game at all, also your pc must have 128mb ram and a pentium III 400mhz in order to barely run this game.


By the way this game doesn't support older 8mb intel video cards.

Oh and don't worry, you're not the only one with a bad video card, i have a pretty bad video card myself(32mb TNT2) i know what it feels like to not be able to play pc games while everyone was able to and the gut wrenching feeling of dying to play that game, i undestand your pain, believe me, i do.

I typed in dxdiag in Run and it came up with this Windows cannot find dxdiag you may have typed the name incorrectly in the Run dialog, or another open program cannot find a file. To search for a file, click the button, and then click search. I tried what it says and it still didnt work.

also by any chance do you think you no whats happened to my WindowsMedia Player?

yay an active topic, yo tiger tell me how many cds your warcraft 3 reign of chaos has, is it 1 or 2?


funny i never knew such a feature of dxdiag tool, guess now i can play around with my video card's features

Mine only has 1.Do you no what could have happened to my windowsMedia Player because wenever i go to play a song it says Class not registered Thats more a problem than playing WarCraft III now!
