I just finished the game with 47! The strategy guide by 'Prima' shows the locations of only 44 - the additional 3 that I found were as follows:

45) After you kill the 'single' Worm in the aqueduct ... where you find the lightning magic - search the area above the door.

46) In the Prestige Passageway (area just before the moat), look up at the pillar tops - the one that is different, houses a scarab.

47) In the back of the airship, in the cargo hold area.

Now I also know where there is an additional one, but after an hour of trying to get it I gave up - in the Warehouse area it's atop one of the train cars .... I tried wind-running, wall running - all and more!

All you have to do to get that one is jump and slash with the X button. That should extend your jump far enough to get to the Scarab.

How can I get the scarab ontop of the train part inside that bunker with the mini-choppers? I can't jump to it

No it isn´t only 47 then how can i have 48?

There seems to be some confusion on the number and locations of the scarabs. I can assure you there are indeed 50 and they are all obtainable. Some you may have to have some ones help in locating them. I dont know for sure if the list someone posted in here is 100% accurate or not cuz i havent read through it. But I know there are 50 cuz I found em all with a little help from some guides. Theres one in the Statues near Zarkahn falls, and another at the celling of the Chamber of Everlasting sleep. Those where the only ones I couldnt get without help in finding them. Some of them you just gotta look around for them.

Can you be more specific about finding NG 2? There is only one place in Tairon where I can see 3 of the clock tower's 4 faces and none of them were destroyed by normal or explosive arrows. What exactly do you mean by "the middle one" and how do you destroy it, whatever it is?

Okay, I got NG 2 and 3. For anyone checking this over the years who has yet to unlock them, follow the steps listed here by the other guys. To clarify,

To shoot the clock tower, you have to stand on the balcony above the door to Pleasure Street and Han's Bar.

Then, once you get NG2, backtrack to the Dworku Monestary area and go back down the manhole and make your way to the area of the Aquaduct with the Statue of Balance and the Peristyle Passage and flip up the pillars like you did before.

i got all scarabs , and the rewards only ask me
