re: Ninja Gaiden Hurricane Pack Vol. 2

WOW! That's all I gotta say.

I went into this thing thinking "Yeah, they say it's hard, but I'm gonna own this damn thing". Little did I know I was about to get my ass handed to me in the later stages. I had no problems with it until I got to phase 4, that's when it gets outright madness! I died once in phase 2, and once in phase 3, then phase 4 just plain hates on you. It wouldn't be so bad if they let you carry more health, but this time around they only let you carry 4 spiritual elixers max. Here's how phase 4 goes: There's 4 rounds of very intense battles with the most difficult enemies from the first hurricane pack, then you have to fight Doku (trust me, he's not a big pussy this time around) and a bunch of suped-up versions of the black ninja's with him. I can get through all of this and still have an elixer left most of the time. Now you think that would have to be it for phase 4 , they have to let you save and go on to phase 5, right? Nope, then you have to fight the Arch Fiend with a bunch of those cat fiends with him, this is the part i'm having trouble with, mainly because they skimp you so badly on elixers.

I absolutley love this download though! It tests your videogame skills to the max, and then some, and I for one love that! Even if you haven't finished the 1st Hurricane Pack yet, go try this one now! If you think you're a highly skilled videogame player, then completing this download will definitley prove it once and for all! I'm taking a break from all the madness right now, and you can bet your asses i'll have this thing done by tonight, at least, I hope so.

Btw i know what you mean i just finished the fight with the arch fiend and so far i have not died once.
Dude, straight up, you are the biggest *bleep*ing liar in the world! Trust me dude, there is no freakin' way in hell you got that far without dieing once! If your even really that far, then please answer these questions for me.

1. Which 2 groups of enemies do you fight right before the Doku fight in Phase 4?

2. After you defeat Doku in Phase 4, what's in both of the treasure chests that appear after you beat him?

3. Which enemies do you fight in the first round of phase 5?

I'm gonna go try to beat Phase 4 here in a bit.

How come you're not answering my questions dude? I even PM'd you these questions over 10 minutes ago and I still haven't got any answers out of you, and I know you're online 'cuz I see your name at the bottom of the forum.

This message was edited by BadassNinja on Sep 27 2004.

Well now I know you're lying 'cuz I just PM'd you those questions again, and you still don't answer, and I see you're still online. Come on dude, don't you want to make a complete fool out of me for talking all this shit to you? Wait, I know what's going on here, you gotta go ask one of your friends that has actually gotten that far the questions, 'cuz otherwise there's no way in hell it should take you this long to answer. I PM'd you these questions over 30 minutes ago, and if you personally got that far then it should'nt take you over 3 minutes to answer these questions.

re: Ninja Gaiden Hurricane Pack Vol. 2

Phase 4 complete. Got it on my 4th try too, WOOT! WOOT!

The enemies you encounter in the first round of Phase 5 are freakin' awesome, their easily my favorite non-boss enemy in the game. They drop down from the sky in these red rock-like coffin things, kinda like how the Elites drop down at the end of the E3 2003 video. Their pretty big, probably about 12 feet or so, and their tough as nails. Although I only tried Phase 5 one time, the moves I saw from them were pretty badass, and when you take half their health they mutate and go into snap mode, kinda like a berserker type thing.

I've just gotta say one more time that I absolutley love this download, it's tied right up there with Halo for my favorite game of all time! I've never enjoyed any game as much as I'm enjoying this download right now, freakin' awesome stuff Team Ninja! I feel kinda bad for the less skilled NG players out there though, 'cuz this is the hardest game I've ever played, bar none! And those less skilled players won't have the chance to experience the glory of the later stages, as well as the new enemies. I can only imagine what those 2 new bosses at the end will be like.

Ooooooohh, good one. Explain this to me then, if you were sleeping, then how come 20 minutes after I PM'd you those questions your name showed up at the bottom of the forum before my name, meaning that you had to be in this forum at the exact same time I was. Wiggle your way outta that one "Master Ninja".

Yeah, it lets you save between Phases. It's set up like a battle arena, there's Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, etc. etc.

im on chapter 6 with no potions about to fight the boss ! it sucks. were you at? got any tips on how to beat the boss with very little life? and is it just me or is the life bar at that part of the game very short compared to what it was in the past?
Now here's what I don't understand. You were having so much trouble in Ch.6 on the far easier first Hurricane Pack, yet you managed to breeze right through the first 4 Phases of the much harder Vol. 2 pack without dieing once. Makes absolutley no sense to me.

re: Ninja Gaiden Hurricane Pack Vol 2

I BEAT IT! Took me about 10 tries to beat Phase 5, but I did it. Boy i'll tell ya, I have never felt so much satisfaction in my entire life then the moment I beat this thing, it was even more satisfying then sex!

Clear Time: 1 hour 2 minutes
Total Play Time: 3 hours 19 minutes
Overall Ranking: Lesser Ninja

That last boss was freakin' hard as hell! The previous 5 or so times I got to her I did pretty well the first half of the fight, then she would completley kick my ass once I got her health down past the half way point. The final time I fought her I went into the fight with 2 Great Spirit Elixers and 3 Spiritual Elixers, and my god she owned my ass the first half of the fight. When I ran out of Elixers she had a little over half her health, and I had a little over half my health as well, then a new strategy popped into my head, so I thought "Shit, since I know i'm gonna die anyways i'm gonna give this a try and see how it works", so here's what I did, using the Lunar. I would wait for her to swing around on the spines of the skulls and I would hold Y to get my max essence built up, while she's swinging around on the things it gives you just enough time to charge up for the max essence attack, then right before she's about to stop on my face I let go of Y and unleash the max essence move on her, and it seemed to do a fair amount of damage to her. So the rest of the fight I would jump and dodge all her attacks and only attack her after she does her shoulder dash attack, 'cuz that seems to be the only time she wouldn't dodge my whole Lunar combo, and I would give her the max essence move when she swings around on the things. I got her health down to where it would only take about 2 or 3 hits to finish her off, and I got too anxious and tried to sneak a combo in on her, she dodged my whole Lunar combo and gave me the ol' foot in the back of the head, stomp my face in the ground and whip me in the ass move, and I though I was dead for sure after that. But very luckily I had the littlest piece of health left, you couldn't even really see any health on my health bar, and thank god the next move she did was the pole swing move. So I charged up for a max essence attack, waited for her to pounce, and gave her the final blow!

*Spoiler Alert!*
Then the door busts open and Rachel falls out of the door still alive, and does her same pathetic little "Ryu" voice, then it's over.

quote GunX
just a quick question will i missout on anything if i just jump right onto vol 2 without playing vol 1?
Naw man, you won't miss a thing, the story remains totally unchanged in Vol 1. Although, you might want to play through the first couple levels to get a feel for the Lunar, if that's what you plan on using in Vol 2.

re: Ninja Gaiden Hurricane Pack Vol 2

quote Darknet
I downloaded it, just for the fun of it. So far, I'm on Phase 3 and I quit right when I got to Phase 3. I died twice in Phase 1 and one in Phase 2. Yeah yeah, shut up. Some of you may be wondering why I died twice in the easiest stage and then died once in the second one. Well you play Fable for 2 weeks and try and play Ninja Gaiden after that. I thought the Y button was roll and the X button was jump.
That's alright man, there's absolutley no shame in dieing in this thing. Besides, it is the hardest game out there, in my opinion anyway. I died early on too, once in Phase 2 and once in Phase 3, mostly because I had been playing Burnout 3 for so long, but I quickly refound my inner ninja.

quote bgeXIII
God!
i still cant beat her...!
i tryed the essence charge but i cant beat it!
anyone have a different stratagy?
if i could skip the other fights and go strate to her id be more mtavated to try.
Are you having trouble with the boss before her? If so, then use the True Dragon Sword on her, it works much better. Well, it did for me anyway. Then switch to the Lunar for the final boss.

re: Ninja Gaiden Hurricane Pack Vol 2

quote Just An Ordinary Guy
I have to say that probably 95% of the people in here claiming to get through the pack (vol2) on a "Die every once in a while" fashion, are talking absolute, complete, total bo**ocks.
Well I died once in phase 2 and once in phase 3, but phase 4 and phase 5 took me about 10 tries each to beat them, now i'd say that's far more deaths than a "die every once in a while" fashion.
quote Just An Ordinary Guy
Ninja Gaiden hurricane pack vol2, is easily the hardest game ever, "ever ever" created. Its stupid hard, ridiculous hard, trying to beat mike Tyson "pissed off" with your hands tied behind your back hard. I have never encountered a title that pushes the mortal mind so close the fringes of madness and then some!
Now that I have to agree with you on.

quote Just An Ordinary Guy
I'm sorry people, I usually don't do posts, but on this occasion something just had to be said about all the bulls**t stories!
You do know there's such a thing as "varied skill levels", don't you? Not everyone has the same skill level dude, some people may be able to complete this thing with dieing only 10 times or so, while other people may not be able to even make it out of phase 3. Plus, I gave about the most detailed strategy on how I beat the final boss, and if you manage to get to her and use it, it happens to work very well. Plus I gave you an end of game spoiler, WTF more do you want?

I beat it just to find out that it needed to be connected to live when i beaat it. now ive got to do it again.
? WTF are you talking about? After you beat the game and it saves, then go online and load your save file to post your score, you don't have to be online when you beat it to post your score. If you beat it and saved, then when you sign on to Xbox Live and put Ninja Gaiden in it'll ask if you want to upload your score to the Xbox Live scoreboard.

By the way, what was your Clear Time, Total Play Time, and Overall Ranking?

Clear time: 13min
Total play time time: 1:27
Now I know for a FACT you are lieing your goddamn ass off dude! It's impossible to have a clear time of 13 minutes in this thing, trust me, Itagaki himself said it would take a clear time of 40-50 minutes for MASTER NINJAS to finish it, yet you managed to beat it in 13 minutes and only got a lesser ninja ranking. That makes absolutley no sense to me man. And as many times as you retried on phase 5, there's NO WAY IN HELL your total play time was 1 hour 27 minutes, NO WAY IN HELL. If you can't beat it you could've at least posted a believable time, 'cuz noone, and I mean NOONE, in the entire freaking world would believe something as ridiculously stupid as that. You must be about the stupidest mother*bleep*er in the world to think anyone in their right mind would believe that bullshit. NOW I KNOW FOR A 100% FACT THAT YOU ARE A BIG FAT LIAR!

So is Vol 2 harder than Vol 1? Maybe I should trade the game in, I can't get anywhere on Vol 1 despite completing the normal version of the game :'(
If you can't beat Vol 1 then don't even try Vol 2, it's WAY harder.
