Dude, most people will tell you that Sephiroth is the best FF bad guy. as you can tell from my name I like them both.

Well, you can tell we like him by reading up on this thread i suppose. But i don't see the need, though not to say it won't happen one day, for multipule threads discussing Kefka, his personaliy, and the meaning behind everything he does like i've seen in the VII forum. Those guys there really think too much about one character! *laughs* it is, after all, just a game.

kefka was a clown lol. here's a thought, square made him a clown to make little kids afraid of them lol. like they did in chuckie but wit dolls instead.

i think they were going to the opposites. a clownish looking madman.... there's something really disturbing about someone who can commit genocide with a smile and some jokes......

why is it that every single person who has some sort of praise for sephiroth or cloud absolutely has to have a sephiroth or cloud avatar? Enough fanboyism. Kefka pwns Sephiroth. He murdered women and children, ffs, and destroyed the entire planet in a split second.

Sephiroth is just a generic japanese dragonball Z character, same with Cloud.

Kefka was weak for the most part, only getting stronger when he gained power from the statues. I like the main bad guy to be very strong, someone to look forward to fighting plot-wise. Really, all Kefka had going for him was his twisted personality, I don't think he made for a great bad guy myself.

IMHO Kefka was best FF bad guy...

I think at first I just liked Kefka because of my undying hatred for all that is Sephiroth, when when I was 15, I went through and played FF6 again, and payed more attention. Kefka is in my top 3 video game villains of all time for several reasons.

1. Insanity. He was truly unstable and I dont know what it is, but I love a character who has extreme violence issues.

2. This is a point of Kefka vs. Sephiroth. Sephiroth wanted to become a god. Kefka did.

3. Kefka had some of the best dialogue of any character in any game...ever. "There's nothing like the sound of hundreds of voices screaming in unison."

4. He was truly vicious. In the end, he simply wanted to destroy everything. He had no feelings for anything or anyone, he only cared about the death, pain, and suffering he would inflict upon the world.

5. His awesome destructive power. Sure, it wasnt his to start with but he was never weak. He leveled the world in a matter of moments. I haven't seen that level of destruction since Xenogears, when *spoilers* Id leveled all of Solaris.

6. Kefka was intelligent. He took a back seat to Gestahl for a long time, waiting for his perfect moment to strike. When he and Gestahl came to the statues, he saw his moment and he didnt think twice about moving in and taking all the power in the world for himself.

These are just a few of the reasons I love this guy. Sephiroth really can't compare anywhere here, except for looks. Seph was the pretty boy of the FF Villains. Him and Kuja.

For reference, here's my top 3 villains, as you heard me mention above.

1. Luca Blight (Suikoden II)
2. Kefka Palazzo (Final Fantasy VI)
3. Albedo Piazzola (Xenosaga I & II)

lol, i laughed all through that post, partley, because i have a sephiroth avatar, but i can agree, Kefka is a much better villian, actually i had him as it once. But one thing i most surley don't agree with is that Ultros is the best: I hated him!... so much.
