If you like VIOLENCE, and get this game.

I didn't like it so much but the godfather is STUNNING.

The two best aspects of this game are:

1: the respect/vendetta metres
2: the attack modes

The respect metre is a great tool in a game such as The Godfather, because your actions in-game affect how the virtual world sees you. If you roam NYC killing and beating up everyone you see, the peds in the game will notice and comment on it when you walk past. The higher you rise up the Family ranks, the more the peds will respect you, and again, they will comment on it.

The vendetta metre is virtually the same, only it reflects how opposing Families see you. Attacking another Families businesses or mobsters will see their vendetta levels against your Family rise. Get it too high, and the mobsters will attack you on sight. Max it out and you will start a mob war!

I also love the attack modes. There isnt just one attack button. Your attacks differ based on which direction you push the analog stick, whether or not you are holding your enemy, and which weapon you are holding. Holding different weapons can allow you to perform various "executions", which are graphic, and overall fun to watch.

You can also use your surroundings as a weapon. Throw a shopkeeper through his own window, bang his head up against the wall, or even his cash register! Push a baker into her oven, or throw a crooked cop off of a rooftop. The possibilities are endless!
