The first time I played president run I used cheat but I have beaten it without cheats too. The way to beat it is not to go to fast and stay away from the police as much as possible. The way is by looking at the map and finding the quickest route.

Yah, the PS1 Driver was harder thin the PC Driver. Even the president's run was the hardes! It took me and my brother like 4 or 5 days to beat it.

There is no way to save him or his brain, when he is already in the president run, sorry to say that. I sat there by hours until my eyes literally popped out of my skull, in endless attempts to beat this level on PSX, and when - after weeks of trying every weekend - I finally made it, I saved the replay to watch it again and again. :-)

It takes a little preparation to write a strategy for this last level, but I found it essentially to have some tricks ready when the cops come tough for you, like having them crash into other cars or letting them push you but still being able to handle the impulse. You can also go as far as throwing other cars on them, like in a crazed out billiard game, and maybe you can only beat the president run if you have the luck to play one or two such tricks against the ai.

A tip for getting closer to the garage on this mission is to take the two avenues separated by a kind of linear park (that pair of avenues is between the two big parks of the city), there you can simply change between avenues if a roadblock appears or a pursuer gets closer (it's not recommended to drive between the avenues cause it's hard to avoid the trees).
