Question about Final Fantasy VIII dificult

Hey, i'm here on disc 2, just perfomed that lame band show for squall, and most of my characters are around lv 15, two on 17, and squall on 21. I didn't change any weapon yet (didn't have patience to look for the items >.> anyway, i think the damage of my characters are kinda low (minimum of 60, but my squall does around 120), and i noted that in a way or another, when i get to confront some hard monster or boss, i always end up using all my gf's all the time!, because or the monster does a lot of damage compared to to my char's hp or my chars just don't do enough damage to kill him. So what happens??! I call the gfs again and bla bla bla...battle ends.
Well the thing is, i want to know if the game it's just like that, or i really need to train more, because a friend of mine who got in the final boss told me that most part of the game is like that, you using gfs becaus your chars can't hit too hard, and that the final boss is gonna beat me easily for the first time. Anyway, if anyone could help me with any tip or telling me what shoud i do, please =P (aaah, sorry for the long text and the bad english, it's not my first language >.>..)

Man, train up a bit. The easiest way is to have Squall at low hp and constantly use renzokuken on the enemies. (zells can be good if you have fast fingers) And use your elemental attack junctioning. (fire, lightning, ice, or whatever) If you don't take the time to train up and fiddle around then you will die horribly against most of the enemies.

Havnt played ff8 in years but... get into a fight with a "weak monster", use all of your characters to draw 100 of some type of magic (elemental attack works best eg. water) & junction it to their str. Simple.

re: Question about Final Fantasy VIII dificult

No no! This is what you need to do. Have Quistis at low health and make sure she has her special Degenerater. Also make sure you have Odin from the Centra ruins. Now go to the island closest to heaven which you will find if you search for a picture of it online. Once you arrive at the Island closest to heaven, save IMMEDIATELY. Go into a battle, and do not try to beat it yourself whatsoever. If Odin comes at the beginning of the battle to kill the enemy thats a guaranteed level, and probably more if your characters are around 17 like you say. If Odin doesn't come, then wait for Quistis to have her turn and see if she can use a special. If she can use degenerater and insta-kill your enemy. (like Odin) If Odin doesn't come and you can't use a special with Quistis, hold down Z and C simaltaneously and you will flee from the battle. Hopefully before you die. Save every few battles, or else you'll be kicking yourself. Don't wait for Quistis to get her turn against a Marlboro unless she starts out with her turn almost ready. For a Marlboro, if Odin doesn't come.... RUN LIKE HELL!

Oh yeah, and get the abilities to change items into magic with your GFs too. Get like 100 of a strong magic and junction it to magic in whatever it helps most in your view. (HP, Str, vit, etc.)

re: Question about Final Fantasy VIII dificult

ya man it sounds like you aren't junctioning to your stats, do the junction magic tutorial again as i am lvl 12 and can do 100+ damage with proper junction. and about the island closest to heaven comment this is true however u cannot get to the island until you have the Ragnarok, mostly through disk 3 so don't even bother trying to get there yet but he does have the right idea about using quistis however instead of running away if quistis doesnt get her limit break simply press the "D" key and it will reset the characters turn without them having the refill the atb gauge thus giving you another free chance at your limit break. this little trick can be done until you get a limit break.

I look forward to killing you soon!
