You have to have a connection to the internet when you first start it for the gameguard patch. Once thats over, you can disconnect.

Is there any way to emulate the GameGuard server? I've heard many ways for maple story, GunZ, gunbound, etc. but no-one else says how to do so with PSU:Illuminus. Can anyone tell me the server directory/file arrangement? I do not have a connection at home, so I cannot play online, but even for offline/story mode, it asks me to connect every time I start the game. If there is no way to emulate the server, is there any other way?
Edit: There is a way! It does need an initial connection to the internet. 1) First of all you need a Web Server (a server from your computer). I highly suggest Abyss Web Server X1. Its free and it works (even when its not running...) 2) In the "C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs" directory, you need to create the following folders, in this order: GameGuard SEGA SEGAPSU 3) Now, the following files need to be downloaded, and placed in this folder: gamemon.npz ggscan.npz npgg9x.npz npggNT.npz npgmup.npz nppt9x.npz npptNT2.npz npsc.npz NPSCAN.npz SEGAPSU.npz splash.npz update.cfg (These can be downloaded by going to this address: *ttp://update.nprotect.net/GameGuard/SEGA/SEGAPSU/(filename)) Next, the loopback adapter needs to be installed, and the server configured. quoteStart PSU and enjoy offline without the internet connection. P.S.: I hope this was useful. This message was edited by Reki_III on Feb 24 2008. This message was edited by Reki_III on Feb 24 2008.

quote Dragoon_XYou need the internet everytime you connect so that gameguard can check its files to tell itself that the files haven't been tampered with. It's not as easy as "let it update at first, then you never need the internet again" as people are trying to lead everyone to believe. This is the simplest thing I have been able to come close to, but if I find something better, I will put it here, too.
