"Hero Mania" (the original game was released on NES in 1984!)"Mega Man" (the original game was released on NES in 1987!).

He has a *red dog*, that is His best friend. There are always *8 main-levels, with an boss at the end of every level*. There are always 3 extra levels *with an boss in the end of the levels. *And the final secret boss the main-villean of the game)* = You see the cimilarities, but the actual style and look of the "Hero Mania" games does'nt really remind of "Mega Man" though!  | |

I never heard of Hero Mania, but it definitely does sound similar. Interesting.
