Soulcalibur II vs. Soulcalibur III |
|
I've played Soulcalibur III for about 3 weeks, and I really started to like the battle system and gameplay potential. I developed an interest in this series, so I wanted to try out Soulcalibur II as well because it was so popular (plus, almost 9/10 people said that it was much, much better than SCIII).
I borrowed my friend's SCII since he does not play it anymore, and after playing through a few characters' stories, I felt that the battles were a LOT easier than SCIII. Really easy. SCIII had much better AI. So in what way really, is SCII better? Is it the multiplayer? Better gameplay (SCIII was more interesting for me)? What else? But I really never bothered to read the stories in the 'Tale of Souls' mode in SCIII. The characters were way too cliche, and uninteresting. Just got the gist of the stories. SCII didn't have any of those annoying things... so it was a bit more fun that way. I liked SCIII more. Put out your opinions here. This message was edited by Feynor on May 26 2009.

Well, I'm a sucker for fanservice, so I'm gonna say Soul Calibur II. When it comes to awesome video game characters, Link just can't be beat.
(Though Soul Calibur III came pretty damn close with its awesome create-a-character mode, fun RTS-style spinoff mode and plenty of customization.) -------------------

I loved Soul Calibur 2. It was simple and not too complicated.
Soul Calibur 3 was alright. The graphics were pretty excellent, but I do agree that the AI was really hard. Like really, really, hard. I had the thing on Easy mode to start lightly, and I got my ass kicked. A lot. I never was able to unlock all characters of Soul Calibur 3 or complete all the quests and whatnot. There was simply too much to do [and most of it was way too hard]. I like simple games, and SC3 definitely overwhelmed me. -------------------

I should add, the unique Ninja fighting style in SCIII was a blast. It wasn't wise to leave it out in SCIV. Sigh.
