Right, enough. I have had *bleep*ing enough. What the hell is the problem with this community? On one side we have people flaming each other, dragging themselves to various places in NeoRS and causing a fuss which I then have to clear up, then we have people crying over the most simple of things and wanting a moderator to bitchslap someone because they felt uneasy, and then we have the general divisions amongst members who just simply cannot get along but would rather run around shouting about how so and so is the worst thing on this forum. Honestly, grow the hell up and do it fast. You need to be 13 in order to play this game, so put your 13-year-old brain to some use and quit your pointless bickering. I don't care if you hate someone, no-one else cares if you hate someone, so shut up about it. This whole "I hate member_x they're an idiot who should be banned" is repeatedly going around the forum, and it has got to stop.

I am losing my motivation to do anything with this forum because people seem more interested in going "naaaa naaaa naaaa" at someone than they are building a community. Existing members have enough trouble getting along as it is, but recently I've seen a lot of hostility towards new members who have done nothing wrong, be it because they ask what you think is a silly question or simply because they've made friends with your enemies. You think they instantly hate you now because they spoke to someone else first? Well guess what, they don't. They probably don't even know you, let alone hate you, so don't go stabbing away at them. Try actually being nice instead; they may end up being a great friend.

Many may be wondering why I'm still here if I'm so fed up, and you know what? I don't really know. I used to enjoy doing things for this forum; organising events, developing RScript, pushing the Portal/Wiki projects forward, generally having a good time with everyone. I did it because I liked the community, and while things were never perfect, they were a lot better than they are now. Now I spend most of my time finding out who hit who in the Clan Chat or clearing up some mess on the forum. If the state we're in now is what everyone is happy with, then fine, you can have it and I'll leave. But for goodness sake, some of you just need to learn to shut up once in a while. There is absolutely no need to flame and shout and nag at other people, so cut it out.

Here's an idea: Close the clan Chat. That's it, done. Don't even open it up. All this shit is happening because of the CC. I'm never in it cause of this bullshit, and other people feel the same way as me. If the NONDOUSHEBAGS wanna have a clan chat, someone can make their own off of Neo_chat's and do it. Put everyone on neo on ignore from Neo_chat and bam, problem solved, until the community can prove that they deserve a CC again.

Yeah, close it down for good. If anyone else wants to use a cc then fine, but you shouldn't have to deal with everything in it.

Clan chat is more trouble than its worth.

Members can go to there own clan chats and invite friends just like every other player in the game does. That way they can all talk to the people they like and keep bickering to themselves, since they'll be in control of their own chat. Then that just leaves the forum moderators to get back to doing what they are here for. Sounds good to me. ^^

Here's an idea that just popped into my head also, a Swiftkit IRC channel for neoseeker - IRC has more control over bans/kicks ect. So less stress, it would mean members can use ACY's Rscript easily, generals can set mute to shut everyone up if needed, permanently banning the people coming in on different usernames who cause trouble (i.e. spamming), simply giving a lot more control when things get stupid and all it requires is swiftkit. Not to undermine the NeoIRC run by angy, but its not as easily accessible as swiftkit is.

The existing IRC is accesible from Swift I believe, but trust me it would not offend me in the slightest if the Neo IRC moved there. I do not trust that program, so I would not use it, thus continuing to connect via mIRC.

Imo this is a horrible idea... Maybe it is just the time of the day i play, but when clan chat just has a few good friends in it, it is an awesome chat... In fact clan chat is one of the only reasons i am still playing runescape today. Before clan chat i had quit rs and it was clan chat's release that brought me back

Please dont let the people who love clan chat suffer for the actions of some of the more immature members

Shutting down the clan chat doesn't solve the problem of members being immature. I imagine that the bickering would still likely continue onto the forum.
We can just kick people right off or ban them or whatnot. If they want to disrupt the community they shouldn't be a part of it.

Yeah but Nec, on here the mods have a better control over a ban or mute or something. I'm still standing with my idea, shut it down.

Ive supported the idea of shutting down the clan chat for a long time now. I remember when it first came out and how much a decent update it was, it really brought the community together and everyone behaved inside it. I dont know where people got the idea that backstabbing/flaming/spamming became a good idea. It isnt funny and it isnt cool, it just makes you look like a complete goon. I think some people need to learn some basic manners and communication skills before you are allowed into this community.

I am getting sick of cleaning up mess alongside Acy. We both have lives, and when I have time on the computer I like to spend it playing Runescape like the rest of you. I dont expect to come to this forum expecting to clean up stuff. I actually thought with the recent updates, our jobs would be easier because gold farmers and scammers would decrease significantly. But no, its been replaced by this bs, and it stops now.

It's not about changing any paticular programme (IRC) or method of communication (Clan chat) between the members. Its about how we treat each other within these places...shutting it down just shows a massive failure. Some of us just need too wipe the slate clean and move on

Just keep the silly arguments out of them both lol, thats little things like bashing someone for a picture they post, in the end, what does it matter? Absolutely nothing lol.

Some of you dont see that this bickering about what pictures are posted, like glitches and convos, just make you dislike each other even more and theres just no need. If you dont like them simply dont comment and talk too the person about something you do like. (<- thats such an easy thing too do :3)

Basically cut out this whole "one-up" game, and get over ourselfs.

I support the CC, closing it down is way over the top. When I've been in there its been nice. Repeated offenders should be punished harsher.
