re: Mage, awesome

uhh there is a few ways depending on what you want in terms of cash spendage and hp lvls. fire strike is pretty good exp and doesnt cost alot (will give you hp exp) this method requires mage robes or something (you can train def at same time with it.

the other method is extremely cheap using curse while wearing full rune it will splash lots and thats what you want (does not give def or hp exp)

re: Mage, awesome

i'd where wizard (g) or wizard (t). I would recomend going to Fist of Guthix to train ur mage with mage of 35+ u'll do good plus if u want to u can save your f.o.g points and buy combat robes or Druid robes. They have good mage bonuses.

re: Mage, awesome

Like etnie said, use Wizard (t) or (g), regular blue wiz robes would work too and train at F.o.G for free exp. However, if you wish to not do so I suggest leveling up a skill such as Woodcutting so you make the money to buy the runes. Another alternative would be to kill the Minotaurs in Stronghold of Security to train Defence while picking up the drops to sell in GE and make money.

re: Mage, awesome

O yea thats something i forgot to metion. Train a skill like wood cutting for money. Also i recomend haveing a high runecrafting skill. So you can make your own runes or sell them for money. Also when u have about 30 to 40 def kill hill giants for there bones and sell them but only train on ur def skill there. As a mage the higher your def the better. Also make sure you have a magic amulet there very helpfull. As a f2p you don't have access to a magic potion so i recommend carrying wizard mind bombs with you they help a lot. Now for a good place to train your magic lvl i recommend training on the Lessor Demon at the mages tower. Or training on the scropians in al karid. Thats all i have for now i hope this was any help to

re: Mage, awesome

Unfortunately there's never been a great choice of f2p magic armour, (especially before FOG). I would advise against (T)/ (G) robes considering the expense for low levels (especially if going PvP). I would go with wizard hat and body, with monk robe bottoms or something like that. Or you could do FoG like crazy, you get free rune casts here which means free magic experience, and you could buy the decent FoG robes with the tokens.
Also, train defensive magic (ie The magic autocast with the shield with it.) You will also want to do a skill to gain some cash, i advise mining, its average money all the way from level 1 mining copper until 15.

re: Mage, awesome

Honestly (t) and (g) robes are the best for pvp because you'll get better drops. The more thats your stuff is worth the better drops u'll get. If you have Wizzy (g) u'll probly get stuff like corrupt dragon and thats worth a lot of cash. But before you enter a pvp world i recomend 50 magic and 50 def. So good luck any more questions???

re: Mage, awesome

I am sorry to inform you that your logic and knowledge is faulty.

It doesn't matter how much you enter the hot zones with, all it has to be is over 75k with the opponent risking 25k.

The drop of someone wearing a blue partyhat and a warriors ring is the same.

re: Mage, awesome

wrong. all you need to risk is 75k+ of worth of armor or stuff and you will have the max amount of drops but if your ep is low you wont get many good drops. also normal blue mage armor no trim is the same as trimmed only doesn't look so good.

f2p could be 26k.

yea, but also you have a 70% chance of getting one of these items.

re: Mage, awesome

If you only have to risk 75k then u still can where wizzy (t) its only 640k and thats good enoff because your not going to break 75k with regular robes and it was just a suggestion omg. I guss if u wanna just where a cheap wizzy t item like a hat or something and u'll get good drops.

re: Mage, awesome

you could just have 75k in inv in coins solution solved. Instead of some worthless 650k armor that doesn't give you 1 single advantage in the fight. It just makes people want to pj you for your armor. you could also use that 650k to buy some corrupt dragon and have a way bigger kill rate.

its only 640k
That's a lot in terms to new players/f2p, especially if you lose it in pvp.
