Guide Depot

Guide Depot
A place for guides.

RuneScape is a game of strategy. Without it, and a lot of patience, you will find yourself unable to succeed. This thread is here for you to share your strategies, make difficult tasks easier on the rest of the community, and help members accomplish things we never thought we could.

The guides you post can range from detailed information to a melee training spot to a way to power train construction to the best way to acquire a certain kind of items. There are no limitations on guide content.

There are a few regulations that you must follow, though. They are very simple and will cause you no aggrevation.
  • Give your guide a title so it can be indexed in the next post.
  • Make sure your guide is completely clear, legible, and detailed. It will be deleted if it needs major improvement or is of no use to the community.
  • As always, don't rip content from other sources; don't post something from a fan site, partial or whole. Everything must be your own.
  • Do not post any guides that violate the rules - no guides on how to macro, lure, etc.
  • By posting your guide in this thread, you are giving us permission to use the guide on the RuneScape NeoPortal. If we decide to use your guide, you will be contacted via PM as notification, and you will receive full credit as author on the NeoPortal.
You may reply to this thread with criticism on guides but every week or so the thread will be cleaned of all non-guide posts. However if you want to give suggestions for this thread - how it should work, what procedures should be implemented - post in the Mod Corner.

I hope this thread will make for some interesting reading and help everyone be more efficient in game. I will soon write a guide or two myself.

XBUDT'S GUIDE TO RUNNING MISCELLANIA

Table of Contents

1.0 Introduction
2.0 Why Do This?
3.0 Requierements
4.0 The Basics
5.0 The Different Methods
6.0 FAQS
7.0 Tips and Tricks

1.0 Introduction

Well in the screenshot gallery there has been quite a lot of talk about the Miscellanian Kingdom and many people are wondering how it works and if they can make some money off it. The Miscellania Kingdom IS profitable and requires no work! Except cutting 1 or 2 teak logs to keep favor up!

2.0 Why Do This?

This is a question many have so let me explain! The Miscellania Kingdom is an ignored aspect of the game that can be very profitable and requires no effort. You can make 1-2 million gold pieces in a week or get raw materials for skilling like coal or flax or maple logs.

3.0 The Requirements

There are quite a few requirements but it shouldn't take too long to get all you need especially since you're now intrigued and excited to get started! Here they are and a description of what they are used for.

  • Completed "The Throne of Miscellania Quest" - gains you access to this "mini-game"

  • Completed the "Royal Trouble" quest -- gives you five more workers

  • 1.35+ million gold pieces - to pay your workers

  • A Rune/Dragon Axe - to cut teaks to gain favor

  • Relleka Lyres/House in Relleka - method of transportation to get to Miscellania faster

  • 10+ Empty Bank Slots - for your profits!

    4.0 The Basics

    Once you have all you need all you need to do to start is to put your people to work and gain their favor. You workers take 10% of your coffers as pay each day but they can only take a maximum of 75k each day. This is where favor comes in. Your workers collect resources and will take 75k each day if you use this guide correctly. However, if you don't have 100% favor they will do less work and still take the full 75k.

    First, gain 100% favor which won't take long. All you have to do is cut teaks for the woodcutter near the bank. You can also cut maples for the other woodcutter if you wish because he is closer to Advisor Ghrim.

    Second, go to Advisor Ghrim, who is right next to the king on the second floor of the castle. Then, ask how the kingdom is faring and deposit your 1.35M into your coffers.

    Third, you will distribute where you want your workers to distrubite their effort.

    Fourth, keep up your favor each day for maximum profits or just wait til the end of the week.

    Fifth, at the end of the week pick up your profits, then deposit the 525K you're workers got as pay.

    5.0 The Methods

    There are many methods. Some are better money; others are better for raw materials. It's up to you to find the one that is right for you.

    1. Flax and Maples

    In this method you set your workers to full on flax and only half to work maples. At the end of the week with 100% favor you will have taken in these profits.

    Flax: 8750
    Maples: 3119
    Tree Nests: 31
    Herb Seeds: 14

    Sell the flax 100ea and make enough to pay your workers (525k) and more.

  • 8750 * 100 = 875,000 gold

    Sell the maples and get even more money or firemake them for experience.

  • 3119 * 100 = 311,900 gold

    You can also sell the crushed bird's nests 2k each!

  • 31 * 2,000 = 62,000 gold

    You can also sell the assorted seeds for extra money.

    2. The Coal and Flax Method

    This is my personal favorite. All you need to do is insert you're gold then put 9 workers on coal and 6 on flax. You end up with these profits.

    Coal: 3428
    Gems: 17
    Flax: 5250
    Herb Seeds: 8

    Take the coal and sell it 200each on the forums or use to smith.

    3428 * 200 = 685,600 gold

    Then take the flax and sell it to make back your 525K that you paid your workers!

    5250 * 100 = 525,000 gold (EXACT WORKER'S PAY!)

    3. The Coal Method

    Put all 15 workers on coal and get some coal or a lower profit. This is best for smithers looking for coal.

    Coal: 5775
    Gems: 38

    Sell part of the coal to make back the workers payment.

    2625 * 200 = 525,000

    Use the rest as you please.

    4.0 Crazyhat's Submitted Herb Method

    Put it on full herbs and half on maples.
    This method can vary because of the kind of herbs possible. Note that you will not get an guam or marrentil. This is what Crazy got after a week and a few days.

    Crazy had 1.5m in the coffers for a week and a few days. He ended up with those 3.8k maples, the tree seeds (included 2 yews and 1 magic), and the herbs were 75 avantoes, 66 irit leaves, 116 tarromins, 38 kwuarms, 42 ranarrs, 103 harralanders, and 2 stacks of 40 and 1 of 60 which he couldn't identify.

    quote crazyhat4

    6.0 FAQS

    Q: Can F2P use this method?
    A: No, this is a member's only area.

    Q: How much have you made off this method?
    A: I have used a lot for smith experience and I have made about 5mil total.

    Q: Why use 1.35M gold?
    A: It gives you two extra days that your workers can use 75k for pay if you forget it's a buffer.

    7.0 Tips and Tricks

    1. There is really no tips and tricks but I can tell you this. Just ask me how many of a resource you can get in x amount of days with x amount of workers working on it and I will find out.

    2. Other than that you can combine half full of anything with full on anything else. Play around and see which works best for you.

    3. After completeing "Lunar Diplomacy" you can contact and manage your kingdom remotely. You do this by using the NPC Contact spell at 67 magic. Just do it for Advisor Ghrim.

    4. Rune HQ Calculator Awesome Calculator for possible profits.

    THANKS FOR READING!

    GRANITE MINING GUIDE

    Contents.
    1. Intro
    2. Method (and requirements)
    3. Tips + Tricks
    4. FAQ

    1 Introduction

    The main purpose of this short guide is to help with your granite mining. Since i did it for a few months i got to know a few good methods, which will be explained here. Screenshots are included in the guide to help you identify areas. I've also only chosen granite for those that want to gain fast mining exp, effectivly, and Granite is the best way to do this. I will mainly explain the "LUNAR HUMIDIFY" Method, but the FAQ will have answers to other methods.

    2 Method (and requirements)

    Mining Granite is possibly the best way to gain fast effective mining exp. ALthough no money is made from it, and it requires alot of effort, time, patience and clicking
    In order to do this succesfully, you need to be able to actually mine granite, i suggest starting at a mining level of 50 MINIMUM. Also be able to WIELD a rune pick axe. Other pick axes do make a differeance, i have tested this, and you will see it if you try as well. Here is a picture of the best possible area to mine Granite.

    You also going to Need Desert robes, and anything whiite you can find.

    Your inventory is going to want to consist of a water staff, fire runes, and asteral runes, as well as 10gp (for money randoms), and about 16 (4) water skins. So your inventory should look something along the lines of this...

    There are a number of reasons why you want this inventory.
    + It allows you to stay in the desert for as long as you have runes. (potentially until 99)
    + The bottoms two rows will fill with Granite, and these two rows are the easiest to drop.
    + It allows you to recieve cash form random events.
    + You will only need 16 water skins so save space in your bank.

    When your water skins all hit 0 you can either wait till your at half hp (again incresing your time in the desert) or fill your skins on demand using the Humidify spell on the Lunar Spell book, requiring level 68 magic to use.

    Following this method means you will never need to leave the desert.

    3. Tips and Tricks

    + The Camulate is a must if you want the best possible exp, You recive this item from doing the Enhakras Lamnent quest. This can teleport you right below the quarry, so all you have to do is run up some ladders.

    + Lunar spells are very useful for training skills, and the humidify spell is a miner best friend along with his water skins. Obtain this spell book by completing the Dream Mentor quest, which is also a pretty fun quest.

    + If you want to figure out how much granite you need to mine for the next level, then you can use Neoseekers veryown IRC. Within the IRC is a RScript Coded by Kjgmusic and ACY. You can also set Goals with the Script and meet other neoseeker members.

    +If you cant mine granite but want yo, you can obtain a Drawvern Stout, to increase your mining level.

    4 F.A.Q.

    Q. How much exp can i expect to get a day.
    A. 250k - 350k

    Q. Can i make money from ming Granite?
    A. No - no one will buy Granite as it has no real useage.

    Q. Whats the fastest way to fill my skins if i dont have lunar magics.
    A. Home tele to Lumby and use the kitch castle sink.

    Q. Whats the fastest way to the Quarry if i dont have a Camulate.
    A. Take the Flying carpets from the shanty pass to the Bandit Camp, and run south to the Quarry.

    re: Guide Depot

    Hi dur! Well i've recently been getting a few pm's about staking and well i've decided to post up this guide. Sorry there isnt any pictures but considering i've quit RS and dont even plan on logging in i cant be bothered getting any
    So without further ado here it is!

    Main Armors\Weapons

    -Abbysal whip.
    I think its fairly obvious why i've included this but for those of you who are stupid enough to ask, ITS THE BEST WEAPON IN THE GAME.

    -Dragon Dagger++
    This weapon is incredibly usefull for partially armor off stakes. Now you may question whats the point of having this weapon even in your invent against 250+ slash bonus. Simple answer is i found partial armor staking against pures and rune pures easier and alot less time consuming in trying to get stakes. Turning legs and boots on or helm and boots on against 1 and 20 defence pures made my life alot less stressfull and more profitable.

    -Excalibur,
    Oh mighty famous sword from ancient times come forth and help us defeat the evil scurge that is in the form of mankind! In runescape....
    This weapon is extremely usefull in raising defence up above the rest of an enemy. I usually only used this in cases where i was fighting level 85+ mains (i was level 80-81 at the time) When full armor bar helm was on. They usually dagger specced (I would have worn crystal shield while they dagger specced making it harder for them to hit\poisen me).

    Usually hitting all zero's on me 74 defence with 280+ slash bonus with the added defence of excalibur is a complete waste of 4 rounds while you go about hitting them and possibly even doing more damage then their dagger specs. Not to mention that once their dagger specs are over your defence is still higher then theirs making it increasingly difficult for them to hit you for the duration of the duel.

    -Veracs,
    is to unstable and completely unpredictable. Dont use it. If your staking someone above 70 attack and defence its best to turn off helm.

    -Torags,
    is the best defence in the game, Yes it did get nerfed and dharoks is only 10 less but that 10 is still alot on defence in a single duel.

    -Defender,
    one of the key ingrediants in armor staking. Most people would argue that obby shield is better becuase it has a better defence bonus and also gives the same strength bonus but i found this to be untrue. The offence bonus that a defender gives far outwieghs any defence you get while using an obby shield.

    -Crystal shield,
    Another key ingrediant. I found that if my defender was failing me at the 1\4 health mark i would switch to this and it would save my ass from more then one tight pickle
    Just another side note it also gives a huge range bonus (best in the game until 5\10 then granite is better)

    Crystal shield is only the best shield in the game until 8\10. Which seems like a bit of a waste but the defence bonus is still good. A quick way of degrading your crystal shields is to go into the lumbridge caves without a light source while wielding the shield and an invent of lobbies. Eat the lobbies and watch your health until you die. Respawn and go back with the shield still wielded and a fresh invent of lobbs. Should only take about 3-4 tries to fully degrade a shield and then you can go charge it again.

    Sure this seems like a bit of a waste but trust me with the money i was rolling in i couldnt have cared less

    Acessories

    -Amulet of Fury
    Not much to say here except its the best amulet in the game and most "Stakers" Whom of which are mostly mains trying to get lucky against rune pures usually only have glory's.

    -Rune boots,
    Best boots in the game for defence and offence bonus's.

    -Recoil rings,
    You best friend when it comes to pures. Usually they only help if you get hit alot in a short ammount of time. Thus only really helpfull against pures. Simply becuase they wont let you have anywhere near as much armor
    I'll explain more later on in this guide.

    -Recipe for disaster gloves.
    Now i didnt have these gloves when i was staking, I had Klanks gauntlets which gave a 2+ str bonus but no offence bonus's i believe. I usually just turned my gloves off anyway considering its impossible to get barrows gloves without getting prayer.

    -Obsidian cape.
    Not much to say about this one. Pretty much the best cape a dueler tank like this can wear for offence and defence bonus's. Only thing you need to watch out for is if you fight pures often like i did that they dont have firecape.

    Methods of staking!

    Full armor staking
    As mentioned above allowing people to use veracs is extremely risky no matter what your stats are. Sometimes the set effect could hit every turn. Other times it wont hit at all...

    So staking against people with similair stats to you is your best bet. I was a 1 pray staker with 77 60 74 the stats of a main account at level 85-90.
    Now you may say to yourself OMG he has 70 77 70 though how can i beat his 77 str?!?!

    Well the simple fact is in a full armor fight your 77 attack and 74 defence far outwigh his single 77 strength. Sure he may get lucky and hit a single 22 on you in the entire fight but most of the time they wont hit any harder then you do.
    And if you have an amulet of fury rune boots defender crystal shield and everything stated above ^ you will already have the competitive edge against them.

    Partial armor staking!

    Now you may think that a torag helm a ammy of fury and rune boots probly wont do much against 75+ attack and 85+ strength. Wrong! Im living proof that a single torag helm can stop most pures in their tracks. In time by looking up countless people to stake you will get in the habbit of being able to guess the defence level of your opponent. Simply becuase your opponents attack level and str level will be higher with 52 pray if they are 20 defenece (not always 52 pray, but if not they have even higher offence stats)

    But they could possibly have 45 defence and lowish prayer and be rune pure. In this case depending on how high their offence stats are you might want to think about switching the helm for legs.

    Now one major point i would like to make here is in a partail armor fight it is cruicial that you use dagger specs and try to get the first hit. The main reason for this is that they have low defence and thus are extremely easy to hit. You will most likely knock out over half of their hp in the 4 dagger specs.

    Please note that staking partail armor is not for the feint hearted and is over extremely quickly compared to full armor staking.

    Now you sometimes will get into a situation where you will be allowed to have helm and shield. In this case use both helm and crystal shield\obby shield until you use your dagger specs and your opponent has finnished. Then depending on how well your going you could switch to defender. But i usually just kept crystal shield\rune kite\obby shield on for the rest of the fight becuase they might get lucky and combo you with whip.

    I would just like to say that this guide that i have made and the techniques used in this guide won me close to 450m in which i ice bursted, wasted, and got hacked for little over 2 months ago... and since have quit rs.

    I would also like to say that i am in no way responsible for you losing big time at duels and would also like to reinforce the fact that duel arena is a shark tank. You cant go in as a gold fish and expect to come out the same as you where. You either get rich or lose everything. Thats unfortunetly the way things go at duel arena.

    Thankyou for your time in reading this guide. And i hope you all become rich bastards

    Miami's (Bballfrk11's) Money Making Guide

    1.0.Introduction
    2.0.Merchanting
    3.0.Skilling
    4.0.Where to Merchant, and sell items.
    5.0.F.A.Q.

    1.0.
    The purpose of this guide is simply to teach you ways to make money There are many ways of this, some that require skill and work, and some which require patience and time. Certain ways make lots of money right away, while others make little amounts at a time. However, every way of money making can be profitable in the end.

    2.0.

    As I said earlier, there are many ways to making money, some which take more time than others, yet some that make more money at a time than others. Some take skill and some not as much. Some of these important ways of making money-

    1.Merchanting.
    Merchanting is probably the most popular way of making money, in the Runescape society. Merchanting is quite easy. It is buying an item, and selling it for more than you bought it. This is done repeatedly, over and over again. However, the easiest items to merchant are in P2P (member).

    One of the most popular P2P item's to merchant are Barrow Armor Sets.
    These include:
    1. Ahrims Mage Set-

    2. Dharoks Mele Set-

    3. Guthans Mele Set-

    4. Karils Range Set-

    5. Torag's Mele Set-

    6. Verac's Mele Set-

    The problem with this, is that the prices of barrows constantly change. Please refer to, Zybez.net, to keep updated with the prices.

    So, as I said before, you would buy these items for a certain price (generally low) and sell it for more than you bought it. For example, let's say I were merchanting another easy-to-merchant item- A whip.

    How would I merchant this? Whips are around 1.6m (Million) right now. (1,600,000 gp) They are a popular Mele weapon, that hit generally hard, and that are quick.

    So, I would start by saying, "Buying Whip, 1.5m." If I am able to buy the whip for that price, you would then try to sell it for 1.6m. That's an easy 100k. Then, you just do that over and over again.

    3.0 Skilling
    Another popular way of Money Making is, skilling. The title of this, basically tells you what this is. Skilling is doing different skills for money. Now, as I said at the beginning, certain ways of making money take skill. These would be those ways. What are some ways? One very popular one, is Woodcutting.

    The two most popular type of logs to woodcut, and later sell, are:

    Yew logs-

    And Magic Logs-

    Yew Logs require 60 woodcutting, and magic logs require 75. Both of these are sold and bought very easily. It is very crucial that you woodcut these logs near a bank, so it is not too far of a walk from where you woodcut, to where you sell the logs. My personal favorite spot to woodcut both Yews, and Magic's, is Camelot, or Seer's Village. (Again, Magic log's, and Camelot, are both P2P.)

    Here is an picture of Seers Village. Circled in Blue, is the bank. Circled in Red, is the Yew Logs, and Circled in Pink is the Magic Logs. There are also Maple logs close to Seer's, for people with lower woodcutting levels, or for people who want quicker Xp which will be circled in Green.

    Each have a generally short path back to the bank, which makes them quick and easy to sell.

    Now, why would people be buying these? Peoeple buy logs for another great way of making money, "Fletching."

    This is a skill of turning logs into bows, and arrows which is again, a P2P skill. This is a great skill to use because, once 1000 yew logs are turned into 1000 yew bows, you can sell the bows for more money.

    Now, why would THOSE, bows be bought??? There are many reasons, but one of the most popular is, Alching, which can be done F2P or P2P. This is a magic spell of turning items into money, and bows are the most popular items, used for this (specifically Yew Long Bows) The spell that is most used for this is, High Level Alchemy, which requires 55 Magic. There is also a Low Level Alchemy which requires a much lower magic level, but gives you much less money for each object that you turn into money. (We will refer turning objects into money as Alching.) Alching is an easy way to make easy money, and also raise your Magic XP.

    Alching looks like this-

    (^^^ Actual Picture that I found on Google ) You've all seen it, you just may not know what it is.

    However, this spell also requires runes, as all spells do. This take 1 Nature rune and 5 fire runes, I believe. It is best, when you do this spell, to have a supply of Nature Runes, and a fire staff wielded, for an unlimited amount of fire runes.
    Those are just a few good idea's for skilling.

    There are certain places that are very crucial for merchanter's to go to, to buy and sell what they need to. There are Two main places for P2P people to use, and generally 1 main place for F2P to use.

    For P2P these two, generally good area's are, World 2, Falador Park.

    Keep in mind, the reason that World 2 is so hard to get into, is because of this park, and this trading spot. This is probably one of the most popular spot's on runescape, and probably one of the most crowded. This is the best place to sell anything you want. Keep in mind, you should not just stand in the middle of the park and try to sell something. There are almost, designated area's for each type of items. There is a spot for people to sell Barrows, Rares, Dragon, Rings, (etc.)

    (Please see Blue Summer's Merchanting Guide, for a layout of where to go in Falador Park, two posts down.)

    Another terrific spot to sell items in, as I showed before, is the Seers bank in any popular world. There are once again, certain spots to sell items.

    5.0. F.A.Q.

    Q.How much of an Income can I expect a day, while merchanting?
    A.It all depends, on what you're merchanting, and how much of it you do. If you really expect to merchant something like Barrows for a full day, you can expect possibly 2-5m+.

    Q.What if nobody is buying what I am selling?
    A. As with anything else, you can have good days, or bad days. You want to pick a popular item that you think people will be buying and selling. If you honestly cannot find a person buying or selling the item, try switching worlds or locations, until you find a decent spot.

    Finally, the end. Here is my character, after using this guide and merchanting.

    And my bank?

    (Everything that I was wearing, was not included into the bank picture. Also, I am sorry that the rune boots were edited in, they were in my invintory at the time.)

    (Also, also, I have as well, 2m, full wizard (t), 4 full Rune sets, many dragon weapons, another warrior ring, and more on my pure )

    Hope you enjoyed Now get outta my thread and go get yourself a party hat, yeh noob

    I would like to show everyone just how easy merchanting can be. Many say they fail at it miserably, but all it is is using basic math and haggling skills to your advantage.

    I. Fundamentals
    Before you start to merchant, you will need to learn the basics. This is where 80% of failed merchant attempts go wrong: the Merchant jumps ahead of himself. To prevent that, here is some basic information on merchanting.

    A. What Makes a Good Merchant? A good merchant is someone who is business smart, good at reading someone through what they say, and generally very dedicated. They are competitive and always know what their next move will be.

    B. Buying
    This is the first step in your cycle as a merchant. You will use as much money as you can get to buy the item(s) you will be merchanting.

    Buying can be done in a variety of ways:
    (Template: Method-Rating in terms of efficiency and work)
    1. In-Game Centers-$$$
    Buying in-game means you sit at a bank/trading center and continually type what you are buying and at what price. This often can be tiring and will get you bored rather fast if the item isn’t something that is commonly found. Often there are sections specified for the item you will be buying, that will be covered in “When/Where” of this section. This method is better for more novice merchants, as it will help them learn the of the items they will merchant.

    2. Official Forums-$$$$$
    This is usually the most effective form of buying. You leave a thread in the proper forum for what you want and keep it bumped constantly until you have spent the desired amount of money on the item(s). To buy on any forum, especially if you are buying a large quantity of the item, it is best to have full mobility via teleportion. I usually just buy 200 laws, 1k fires, waters, and earths. An amulet of Glory is also a good idea if you have finished Hero’s Quest.
    Best for:
    Treasure trail items
    Rare Armour
    Raw Materials

    3. Unofficial Forums-$$
    You are reading this guide in an unofficial forum. If you are a member of that forum’s general community, I wouldn’t recommend buying from there, as it mixes friends and merchanting which can be lethal for both sides an both aspects. You could try a bigger fan forum such as tipit, zybez, or runehq, as these are runescape dedicated with several subsections to suit each of your fancies.
    Best for:
    Raw Materials

    4. The Shop-$$$$
    This method involves bringing a large sum of gp into a shop and buying the most you can of the item you want. Make sure you know what you are going to sell them for, keep a steady eye on the price of the item as it lowers in quantity at the store. If it gets too expensive, you will lose huge profit.

    Best For:
    Stackable Items

    C. Selling
    This is where you sell the item for an amount greater than you bought it. Make sure the price is reasonable in terms of your profit, and also reasonable in terms of attracting a buyer. If you stray from those two aspects, you will waste quite a bit of time.

    1. Selling in a Crowded World $$$$$
    Worlds 2-9 are the preffered way most merchants sell their wares. It involves typing the item you are selling, its price, and for communication’s sake, a shortened version of your RS name such as this: “Selling Full Karils 800k deathkill”

    In an area traditionally known for the item you are selling, which only really applies to the areas in world 2, you can shorten it to increase the chances of someone seeing it: “Sell full 800k deathkill”

    MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOU “PUBLIC CHAT” ON “HIDE” so you won’t lose countless offers because you couldn’t chase the purple text fast enough. Also it may lower lag as your computer won’t have to channel all the text into a chat box.

    Best For:
    Cooked Food
    Barrows/Rare Armor
    Logs
    Dragon Weapons
    Crafting-made Items

    2. Selling in the Forums $$$$
    Usually the best approach for special/low demand items such as treasure trail gear and rares. Make a thread in the appropriate forum stating what you are selling and for how much. Keep bumping until the item is totally sold. This is a good way to get buyers if the price you are asking is a bit higher than usual.

    Best For:
    Treasure Trail Items
    Rares
    Tradeable Quest Items
    Raw materials
    Materials bought from f2p at a lower price

    3. Unofficial Forums $$$ Useful for leftovers you can’t find buyers for. Also a good place to sell items you got in the place of money.
    Best for:
    Bank Sales
    Selling in item-floods

    4. Shop Selling $
    Not a profitable source for a buyer, but still a source regardless.

    Best For:
    Nothing.

    D. When/Where
    Location and time is essential for merchanting, as it determines the location of buyers and sometimes that of sellers. Learning to interpret the location of a seller will help you determine how to best haggle with them and maybe even let you know to change your prices.

    When:
    1. Buying
    When to buy is key for getting a run done fast, and doing it at the right time can save you hours. I have found that if you consistently bump, you will get many more sellers during a Saturday/Sunday morning, given you live in the US. Other hot seller times are:
    3:00 pm est
    5:00 pm est
    8:00 pm est
    3:00-3:30am est

    The weekend mornings are a time where many RS players don’t have much to do, so they just get on and play. The times are the more common times people get home work/school.

    2. Selling
    Generally selling goes best on the weekend, where many people are in a hurry to buy something and don’t mind paying 50k or so extra. Selling times coincide with buying times.

    II.Preferred Methods
    A. Barrows
    I am a barrows merchant myself. It requires little effort and is very profitable if you learn your prices. I made about 25m out of 1m merchanting Barrows nonstop in 3 weeks.

    Difficulty:
    $$$
    Profitability: $$$$

    Before you Start:-Study the prices of a few inexpensive pieces. I would recommend Torags plates and legs, and all the Karils gear. Look at the prices you see them sell and buy for, and buy off of the forums for around 50k less than what they ask for in world 2. Then learn your prices by looking at the items people are selling around you, and gradually branch out...
    -Make sure you have around 1m to devote to merchanting
    -Make sure you can log on every day to world 2 to check on the prices of each piece and set. Otherwise dormancy will lead to massive profit loss for those with >50m
    Go to the armor forums and put up a buying all barrows thread.
    You want the prices for pieces to be around 50k short of the buying price that people say they are buying at in world 2 at first. Feel free to shift your prices around slightly after that as you wish if you think it will make better profit. of course make not of the fact the prices are firm, that's given. Bump at around once a minute until you have spent all your money.
    Sell the Items in World 2 for a greater amount than you bought them, around 50k more per piece. Be prepared for lots of competition.

    Sets/Characteristics:Here are some basic prices for the starting barrows merchant. You can fix them up to match how the market and your preferences go. I can't guarentee their total accuracy, but they shouldn't be more than 200k off at most. I have also rated each set in the more essential aspects a merchant should consider:
    ~~~Torags~~~
    Overall: $$$$$
    Supply: $$$$$
    Demand: $$$$$
    Profitablity/Flexibility: $$$$
    The most effective way to start merchanting, Torags has simple ratios that are the profit ratios I base many brother armors off of.
    ~~~Karil~~~
    Overall: $$$$
    Supply: $$$$$
    Demand: $$$
    Profitability/Flexibility: $$$$$
    Mega steady, mega flexible, Karil's is definately the most reliable and most profitable set by far. The only problem is that the demand is somewhat low.

    ~~~Ahrim~~~
    Overall: $$$
    Supply: $$$$
    Demand: $$
    Profitability/Flexibility: $$$
    Most of the pieces in this set are good, but I would avoid Ah staffs (mega low demand) and Ah tops after your 3rd in a run (hard to sell)
    ~~~Dharoks~~~
    Overall: $$$
    Supply: $$$
    Demand: $$$$
    Profitability/Flexibility: $$$$$
    Dh is the set maker armor. The prices are rather iffy on the individual parts (Hourly shifting price), and relatively firm on the sets (2 week shifting price.) This means parts can be bought for very low amounts, and resold as a set for extrememly great profit. Doesn't happen too often though.

    ~~~Veracs~~~
    Overall: $$$
    Supply: $$$
    Demand: $$$
    Profitability/flexibility: $$
    The expensive items won't get you much profit, and the cheap ones are in low demand and excessively merchanted. Only buy the helm and full set for this one, and watch out for the price because it can crash hard every few months.
    Tips--Buy on Forums sell in World 2
    -Try buying broken parts and sets as well, at a price that covers fixing and gets you some extra profit
    -It's better to buy for lower and sell slightly above average than to buy for normal price and sell super high. It will rest your (cut) wrists and save them a speed-typing spree.
    B.Raw Materials
    Difficulty: $$
    Profitability: $$$
    Often the best method for some decent profit in f2p, you will try to buy lots of a type of raw material in bulk and sell it off in smaller amounts for a higher price. Not the best cash, but still pretty good. I recommend this for those that don’t have very much experience merchanting, as it is more forgiving to a failed attempt than barrows is.
    Some of the better raw materials to merchant are:
    Ess
    Regular Logs
    Yew Logs
    Feathers
    Fish
    Coal
    Bars
    Food
    Runes
    Arrows
    Limps and Seconds
    Unids and Herbs
    Ect.
    Tips-Buy in a less populated world
    Sell in either a crowded world or on the forums
    C. Rares
    Difficulty: $$$$$
    Profitability: $$$$$
    By far the hardest and most “make or break” merchanting. It is unique in the sense that to do merchant rares effectively, you will actually have to be able to “tip” the price of the item you are merchanting. This is because other items, such as runes and barrows are made in excess of 1k a day. This means there is a fresh supply of items coming in, and often a rate faster than they are lost. This causes the price on these regenerating items to stay at a steady, exponential downhill drop. Rares on the other hand, are just the opposite. Their supply is stagnant and will never increase. This means that for every rare taken out of the market (eg abandoned accounts, drops, eats and alchs) its cost increases because the demand cannot be met so readily. A rare merchant creates a dry-spell in the item they are buying, to cause the price to sky-rocket. Many people will want to buy the item, but few will sell, as a large amount sold to the merchant. Since the merchant will have a great number of the rare, he will sell it at a higher price, one that he can set based on how much control he has over the market for his rare. It is much like the stock market, where the rares are each a company. Each rare can be considered a “share” in the company and therefore a larger amount of rares gives the merchant greater leverage over his selling price than a smaller amount.
    Before you start:-Get 1bil, and decide how much of it you want to invest in rare merchanting. Invest the rest in some other form of merchanting
    -Carefully follow the rare’s price over the last few months. A sudden spike/crash means that someone has “broke the levy” and let out their stash of that rare.
    Tips:-Choose a cheaper, less high demand rare, as at the moment the wearable ones are too expensive to buy in bulk.
    -Always buy right after a crash in price, as your fall will be more cushioned should someone decide to sell their stash as you “ferment” yours’.
    IV. The Concept of Price/Time Efficiency
    The main reason some merchants are slow growers, and often quit merching is that they don’t use their money wisely. If I can get a guthans set for 8m, and sell it for 8.2m, I will have made 200k using 8m. Now if I bought, lets say… 16 Torags plates at 500k with that 8m and sold them for 550k, I would have made 800k with that same 8m. This is why Guthans is in general not a good set for starting out merchants (20m or less.) This is also why raw materials are very good for novices: they are cheap yet very flexibly priced. You will want to start out merchanting cheaper, more flexible items and then branch out to more expensive variations of a similar item.
    A. Thinking Ahead You will always want to think about how much you will sell the item you are buying for, and how well you will be able to financially handle a compromise in you price. This will keep you away from losses in money or other problems you get when merchanting. Make sure you have a “compromise price” set, so that if a buyer wants less than you ask, you can sell faster, and with little cash lost. Try to make the compromise price one you wouldn’t totally be bugged by getting. Always think about what will happen next.
    B. Rates and Ratios
    The reason the some items aren’t worth buying is the amount of profit you get for the cash you spend on the item. This means that for the more expensive items you will have to bring the buying price down to match the profit earned in less expensive pieces. For barrows I treat the torags plate and legs as the golden ratio. Around 50k profit for around 500k invested. You want most of your items to be around that ratio or better in Barrows. Raw materials have varying rates, but with unids you want the ID’d commons+ high unids to be sold at a price that adds up to be a greater total that how much you paid for them, making unid merchanting just a big play on numbers. You get where I’m going, as I can’t name the best rates for EVERY item merchanted.
    C. Competition inversion
    This is a skill used where you turn what would be a merchant you are competing with into a promotion for a buyer to buy off you instead. You go in and brush around to see other merchants selling the same item as you (after a while you will be able to tell solely off their prices.) Simply selling for 15k less than them turns them from competition to advertisement, especially if you stand nearby them. If they try to pull the same trick back at you, just leave the area and try to sell something else that you have. If done properly, it will dramatically speed up your cycles and won’t cost you too much profit. It’s a very handy trick during busy hours.
    D. Between Sellers
    Forum buying has only one setback: it is an inconsistent way of getting sellers. There will often be major gaps of time where you will have to wait for another seller to contact you. If you really need the cash fast, or you want to keep entertained, you can double merchant. This means that as you are buying one type of item, you are selling another. It can make a bit more cash and will keep you entertained while waiting for a seller. Also, you can do something that would help you during a step later down your cycle, such as cutting yews while you wait for a seller to sell you some. Or working on smithing/construction while you wait for a barrows seller. This will maximize your profit and can save you time buying. I personally just play the game as I normally would, but that’s just a preference.
    I know it was one hell of a long read. Thanks for reading, now give me 50k.
    Nah, I'll discount it to 25, but just for you .
    Seriously though thank you for getting this far and actually finishing the whole thing. Now go and merchant your bananas.
    Biggest Tip I can give you:
    For rares and tipsy items like Barrows, where the price changes at a rate that doesn't effect the casual buyer as much as it does the merchant, I would reccommend VERY strongly that you not use a price guide. To a casual buyer paying 50k extra will often mean nothing. To a merchant paying 50k extra will mean losing revenue. Do not use a guide for Barrows and rares in particular, as those prices given in price guides are rough shot estimates. Often the maximum street price may end up being the minimum guide price. Learn your prices by looking at the different items being bought and sold around you and make your own best estimate on what to buy and sell that item for the next cycle. Also, I reccomend you try merchanting raw materials if you have no real merchanting experience. I did limps to get the hang of things, but there's a lot of other stuff out there. Enjoy the santa/mask/YELLOW PARTY HAT
    1.0 [ Introduction ]
    Welcome to my Guide to Merchanting. Many people have been asking me what I do, how I do it, and so forth. In this guide I will attempt to teach you the powerful ways of merchanting, and include a small goal log later on. Merchanting has been part of the game ever since it was created, and may be one of the best ways to make cash. Requiring NO stats at all, it can be done by ANYONE. This guide will mainly focus on Barrows and Dragon, so sit back and enjoy, as I share my knowledge to make millions.
    ======================
    2.0 [ Starting ]
    So you wanna be a merchanter eh? Well then there are a few things you'll require.
    1. Patience
    2. Cash
    3. Knowledge
    4. Membership
    5. Teleportation
    6. Ability to multitask
    You're going to need the aforementioned things if you want to be a successful merchanter. If you've got all these, great. Time to start your routine. First thing you're going to need is this:
    ======================
    Firstly, look at the inventory. I like to carry runes for EVERY teleport, Charged Glory for Edge & Draynor, and a Dueling Ring for Cwars & Dueling Arena for maximum transportation. I don’t like to carry tons of cash with me as I’m afraid I may lose it, so instead I carry around 10-20m which is sufficient until you need to bank.
    You're going to want to have this sort of inventory as you will be using the "my world, your place" strategy. Why? Because once you get into it, you'll be doing 100 trades a day and DONT want to switch worlds, because 1) It will annoy the hell out of your friends. 2) It’s much faster if they hop to your world and you go to them.
    Secondly you're going to want an outfit. I choose something that looks nice, but NOT expensive. You don’t want to look rich; otherwise all these fags will ask you to “pls add 100k ur rich m8.” You also don’t want to wear an ugly/noob outfit, because it will kill your self esteem and you will begin to cut yourself. You want to look like a respectable fellow while you're dealing your trades, so find an outfit you like. Also, avoid wearing rares.
    3.0 [ Buying Your Items ]
    Here comes the tricky part. Usually people fail right about here and won't ever merchant again. I will explore in full depth all the tricks and hints to buy all the items you need to make a decent profit.
    To buy your items, you will use the forums. Why? Because World 2 is strictly for merchanters. If you plan to buy cheap off of World 2, you better expect sitting there for hours for the rich level 126 to run in any random location and shout "Selling Verac Helm 2.1" because he wants to sell cheap (you could sell for 2.3). The forums are your best friend, and the competitor merchants & forum mods will quickly become enemies.
    What you're going to want to do is create a thread stating you will buy any barrows/dragon items and list your prices. I won’t give you pricing, as you will need to find which prices are suitable for you. You can pay 50k under price and go through hundreds of items a day to make a nice profit, or you can pay 150k under price and only go through a few items a day making a nice profit. It's up to you, experiment. Once you organize a nice, easy to read post with good prices, you will now play the waiting game.
    Bump your thread & check your game (PRIVATE ON!!!). Do this repeatedly until you have a few sellers. This will be a pain in the ass as you will have friends logging in/out, sellers selling you items, and people asking questions *. They will most likely PM you with something like "i sell dh legs. Make SURE you reply with a "my world your place.” Do not say "uhh my world your place?" because that will show you’re flexible and unsure of it and they will want you to go to them. Stay firm on your world, unless it’s a good sale with like 5+ items (avoid Edgeville). Go to them, trade and say thanks.
    If you're having problems doing this, I'll give you a few hints.
  • The time you do it is critical. You want 250-350 forum members active in the Armor Forums and you will NEED to bump it continuously.
  • If you see other Barrow-Buyer-Merchanter threads on Armor, check their posts. If its like 1-10 they will most likely give up and leave the thread die. If you’re up against 100+ posts on his, it means he's-a-bumpin and he will reduce your sales greatly. You will have to ignore this and wait for them to stop.
  • If they ask you to raise the price, make sure you know what you're doing. You don’t want to overpay an item, but you can be flexible to purchase the item for more yet still make a profit. I know every barrow and dragon armor piece price off the back of my hand so I can haggle greatly.
  • Copying other merchanters is a no. Just don’t do it. You are best to make 'friends' with the other merchanters and avoid enemies, otherwise you can have a few sales stolen. Also, if you are in need of a barrows piece, you can buy one off one another for street price (IE if you’re making sets). If you are seen copying & pasting a thread, you will be frowned upon.
    Note: This is only an example. Don’t get every Neoseeker to go and make a "Buying Barrows" thread in armor. Do this with Magic Logs, Runes, etc. Raw materials are great as demand increases due to skillers.
    * Unfortunately I've had tons of Seekers PM me and beg for merchanting lessons and I've had to add them to the ignore list. This will also murder your social life. You won’t have time to reply to your friends or keep a chat going, so try to use an instant messenger for that.
    ======================
    4.0 [ Selling Your Items ]
    Of course. Selling your items, where all the money comes in. If you want to do this quick and successfully, you want to work out a system. If you're dealing with 30+ barrows items, you've probably got an item from every set. Like I mentioned earlier, World 2 is used for merchanters. People who need an Ahrims Hood will pop in World 2, pay full price, and leave. This is what you want, and chances are, this is what you'll get.
    First off, note all your barrows items so you don’t have to keep banking. And now a key tip will become very helpful. What you need to do is buy during the day (keep in mind these are my GMT timezones) while there are tons of people on forums, and sell during the evening/night when not so many merchanters are around. You can choose to sell on forums for sets, or in world 2. I personally like to sell as sets in World 2, and this is what you'll do.
    A small outline of the barrows & dragon pieces in World 2. If you're carrying multiple types of items, you will find this technique quite helpful.
    Find a starting point. Say Dharok, sell what you can and when everyone else is selling say Dharok Legs, move to Torag. Sell what you can, then more to Ahrims, then Karils, Then Verac, Then Guthan, etc.
    You will be running laps around World 2 trying to find the section with highest demand, you can sell. Repeat until you are low on items and choose one of the following.
    1. Sell prices for cheaper and get rid of them.
    2. Log out of World 2, go step outside, and log in again half an hour later to see if the market has changed.
    3. Keep them banked and resell as sets one your next "Selling Run" after you buy out again.
    You've probably made a few bucks from here, and time to repeat the process. This time since you have a little bit more money, you can buy a few other items only leading to more profit.
    Repeat this until you are rich and sustained a goal.
    ======================
    5.0 [ Tips, Tricks, & Hints ]
    Not much can go here but I'll try and add a few pointers.
  • Use forums to buy, World 2 to sell.
  • Buy during the day, sell during the evening.
  • Avoid Edgeville trades.
  • Always check second screen; tons of scammers.
  • I used to bump my thread till 90 pages (900 bumps) but I got banned 3 times for that. Now I bump a thread until about 100 posts and ditch it and start new. This will prevent prickish Forum Mods from bitching that you're spamming.
  • Buy items at 50-100k under street price, sell as sets for about 2-400k profit.
  • Don’t hesitate to haggle.
  • Respect your sellers, they may come back to you with more.
  • Don’t burn or stress yourself out. Merchanting isn’t for everyone.
  • Enjoy your new wad of cash
    ======================
    6.0 [ Frequently Asked Questions ]
    Q: Can you help me merchant?
    A:
    Read the *bleep*ing thread.
    Q: What items do I merchant?
    A:
    Experiment. A few good ones are Runes, Barrows, Dragon, Mystic, Small Rares, Big Rares, etc.
    Q: Spare some cash, m80?
    A:
    No. Absolutely not. I will not lend money.
    Q: How much can you make a day?
    A:
    5-6M On a good day.
    Q: World 2 is full. Help?
    A:
    Keep trying. Once you have it loaded, never exit it. Just open a new screen if you want to hop worlds.
    Q: What should I merchant with X money?
    A:
    Re-read the guide, but start at a smaller perspective. Try doing 1 type of barrows, or simply buying & selling faster until you have enough cash.
    You need to talk with Rasool after a chat you will be able to ask him about a ring that will allow you to see how to get to damis’s lair you need to steal a guilded cross. Go back to the bandit camp DO NOT wear any god symbols head to the “pub” then go south in a tent there will be a chest with 3 locks for you to pick in order to get the cross take about 20 if your not sure if you can do it with a few picks if you run out of anti poison or lock picks just pick pocket the bandits this isn’t really dependent on your thieving level as at 53 thieving I only snapped one lock pick
    Damis supplies and melee kit (1st form only)
    Kit
    Initiate or proselyte
    Dragon scimitar/ Abyssal Whip/ Dragon Long sword
    Ring of visibility
    Climbing boots
    Recipe for disaster gloves (the best ones you have if any)
    Amulet of strength
    God book
    Inventory
    Dds (p++)
    Teleport runes (Camelot recommended)
    6 prayer potions (4)
    Fill the rest with sharks or monkfish
    Once you have kitted out its time for your upcoming fight
    follow the path marked on the map when you see the arrow flash turn protect from melee on and attack him with a dds special as to poison him then switch to your heavy weapon to deal damage and don’t be afraid to dds a few times as to shorten your fight with him as much as possible once you “kill” him tele out prepare for round 2
    3.1
    Damis supplies and mage kit (2nd form (round 2))
    Kit
    Full initiate or proselyte
    Air staff
    God book
    Climbing boots
    Amulet of Magic
    Ring of visibility
    Inventory
    100 bloods (or more)
    Dds (p++)
    2-4 sharks
    1 law
    Fill the rest with prayer potions (4) this is were you will use most of your prayer pots (it is not uncommon to drain all your pots by the time you kill damis 2nd form
    Folo the same path and turn on protect from melee when you see him cast your best air attack (blast or wave) click casting as auto retaliate with auto cast will just waste your runes on the skeletons and shadow hounds dose on prayer pot as needed I did this and ran out of prayer 2 times that’s were the 2-4 sharks come in pot up and turn prayer on. Once you kill him drop a vial (if you didn’t need to eat any sharks) pick up the diamond and teleport out via cammy tab or regular teleport or ectophial if you’re ready to start deseous right away
    4.0
    Desseous
    Recommended inventory
    Ectophial
    3 Prayer restore pots (4)
    Super set
    Dds (p++)
    Pot of spicy blood
    Fill the rest with sharks (save a space for druid pouch if you want)
    This is what your inventory should look like
    Equipped
    Rune full helm or berserker helm
    Dragon scimitar / abyssal whip / dragon long sword (choose one)
    Amulet of strength
    Rune body and legs
    Climbing or rune boots
    RFD gloves if available
    Your ready to start the blood diamond well get to canafis DON’T go to the pub yet go to the bank and remove a garlic a spice and a silver bar and a pestle and mortar
    Now you may enter the pub you will get a little cut scene as Malak is telling Rovar that his tithe is due after the cut scene talk to malak who will make sure you get the diamond after you kill its current guardian (the trick is you cant) Desseous is the diamonds “guardian” not he is just a more powerful vampire that malak wants done away with so that he can control the region with out interference ask him how to lure desseous out of his coffin he will tell you. Now grab your glory and teleport to draynor and go into the sewers (yuck) find rantun and talk to him he will make the silver bar into a pot now go bank all your armor and weapons grab a varrock teleport and take your pot to Entrana and have the high priest bless it for you now teleport to varrock then go to canafis talk to malak again he will cut you dealing 5 damage thus filling the pot with blood now use the garlic on the pestle and mortar and use the resulting garlic “mush” on the pot of blood then use your spices on the pot of blood now get into the bank eat some chicken to be at full health now put into your inventory your dds (p++) prayer potions the pot of blood of course and your super set then fill the rest with sharks
    There are 2 different paths to take to get to desseous it is recommended you take the path from in search of myreque (the one unlocked at the end of the quest) then follow the marked path shown on the map to get to your fight when you arrive don’t just pour the blood on the coffin equip your dds (p++)
    Activate the special dose on your super set and turn protect from melee and use the blood on the coffin when he attacks lay into him with your super charged specs use your whole special bar then switch to your other weapon eat and dose on prayer pots as necessary till he is dead and if your like me you’ll be glad he’s dead but upset that he didn’t drop the diamond time to talk to malak again to receive the diamond
    5.0
    Kamil
    Part one
    Kill 5 of the ice trolls (level 120+) to open a small cave
    Go through the cave if you have the supplies to continue if not teleport out and restock on pots, prayer, food, health.
    Now you can return through the area walk past the wolves (level 130+)
    You will come to an open field (well it’s a field of ice and snow)
    An arrow will flash just like with damis quickly turn on protect from melee if your using melee just keep your prayer and health up kill kamil and pick up what he drops and it is 2 chocolate cakes and a super restore use these so not to use your own supplies now turn your screen to dark and follow the trail to the ice path once you get on the ice path equip your spiked boots and dose on super restore and your food as necessary to get to the top and use your crushing weapon to break the 2 ice cubes (the troll child’s parents) they will take you down to the child who will give you the diamond for bringing his parents back to him (doesn’t make any sense they took you to him)
    when you are ready for the fight walk to the gate if using a staff to auto cast have it set turn on protect from melee and kill him he is the easiest boss to kill by far once you kill him the diamond of smoke will appear in your inventory if you have space if not drop a vial or something and pick it up then teleport out of there.
    7.0
    The pyramid
    Congratulations you’ve gotten all the diamonds time to put them into the correct obelisks
    Ice diamond goes in to the obelisk with white
    Shadow the one that has the same color as the diamond
    Smoke obelisk’s color corresponds to the color of the diamond
    Blood is the only red one
    Unless you’re ready to run through the pyramid teleport near a bank
    For the pyramid
    Equipped
    Best dragon hide
    Robes (opposite part of dragon hide i.e. if you use the chaps wear robe top)
    A melee weapon (dragon or better)
    Boots of lightness
    Spottier cape
    Inventory
    10 energy pots
    5 Sara brews (4)
    Some sharks
    Speak with Azzanadra in the center of the bottom floor
    After a brief chat you will finish the quest receive ancient magicks and 20,000 magic exp now leave the pyramid bank grab 80k and go talk to elibis and buy an ancient staff for 80k provided that you don’t already have one
    Hit a trap don’t feel bad no its not dependent on your agility level how many times you fail at 47 agility I only had to attempt it 2 times
    8.0
    If you haven’t realized the diamonds also correspond with the types of spells available
    Smoke poisons your opponent
    Shadow “blinds” your opponent lowering their attack
    Blood drains your opponent’s health 25% given to you
    re: Guide Depot
    BARROWS
    The easiest guide to lose no money, only gain money every trip (Uses NO PRAYER POTS)
    First off Requirements: 80+ Attack 80+ Strength 70+ Defence 66 Magic (with Ancient Magicks) 70 Ranged for Black Dragon Hide
    Quests: Priest in Peril, Nature Spirit, and Ghost Ahoy (optional for Ectophial)
    Equipment: Helm of Neitiznot / Berserker, Amulet of Glory / Fury, Black Dragon Hide Body and Chaps, Dragon / Climbing boots, Abyssal Whip / Dragon Scimitar, Rune Defender / Obby Shield / Anti Fire Breath Shield, Any Recipe for Disaster gloves / Combat Brace, Obsidian cape / Legends / Fire, and Ring of Dueling
    This Order helps me a lot!
    Inventory: 1 Super Attack (4), 1 Super Strength (4), 1 Super Defence (4), 1 Prayer Potion (4), Secondary weapon (Preferably DDS), Ectophial / Tele-tab, Spade, and the rest with Sharks (not lobbies, sharks are about 704 GP each right now, so the total cost of one trip is about 24K)
    NOW THE TRIP!
    Step 1: Teleport to Khayarll (Canfis)
    Step 2: Get out the Basics I listed earlier in the Guide
    Step 3: Start walking to Barrows, through the swamp (or the shortcut if you have completed the Myreque quests
    Step 4: Arrive at barrows
    Step 5: Start with Dharoks first (PRAY ON HIM) use all 4 DDS specials; don’t let you prayer run out he hit 54, 54, 53 off me in a row
    Step 6: Go to Karils (He’s my tunnel example) and fight him using the remainder of pray you have left
    Step 7: Go to Ahrims if you are using armor instead of Dragon hide, but remember to pray on him…you should have some left over after you get done fighting DH and KA I usually have 10-20 or so prayer
    Step 8: Once you have found you tunnel, after you have killed all the brothers, proceed in
    Step 9: Go to Torag, you will hit a lot of Zero’s because of his high def bonuses.
    Step 10: Finally, go to Veracs and take him out (you will have to eat here)
    Step 11: Go to your tunnel (as I noted earlier, for this example it’s Karils)
    Step 12: Go through the doors until you find a lock one and click on the right puzzle
    Step 13: If your tunnel brother hasn’t appeared up by now get 10-30 kill count on the monsters there
    Step 14: Go through your locked door in the chest room, open the casket (don’t search it yet!) and fight Karils (Or your tunnel Brothers')
    Step 15: Once he is dead, claim you prize by searching the chest and use your ring of dueling to Teleport to Duel Arena
    Step 16: Trade somebody to see how much money you have made on that trip (mostly 40k-80k with no Barrows item)
    Step 17: Fight anybody in the duel arena Win / Lose (What ever) go to bank get out Khayarll
    Step 18: Repeat Steps 1 – 17
    Guide To Magic Exp - Max Gain! Min. Cost! Fun too ^.^
    Contents
    1. Introduction
    2. Over-View Of Humidify
    3. The Set-Up
    4. The Method
    5. Training Efficiency & Locations
    6. Tips & Tricks
    7. F.A.Q
    8. Credits
    1. Introduction
    Do you find alching mind-numbingly boring? *Yes*
    Do you wish there was a more fun way to get decent mage Exp, and not lose a ton of cash? *Yes*
    Well then, look no further as Humidify is here to brighten up your day. *Bad Pun*
    2. The Over-View
    The Requirments for Humidify are The completion of :
    Lunar Diplomacy*
    Dream Mentor
    Sub-Quest, For Humidify dream mentor must be completed*
    68 Mage Needed
    Gives 65Exp Per Cast
    3. The Set-Up
    You will need 2 Buckets or vials,And the runes needed.
    4. The Method
    As you cast humidify the vials will fill up.
    As soon as you cast the spell be as speedy as you can and click empty on the vial that is not bieng used.
    Then use humidfy. You can do upto 50+Casts a minute if your fast.
    5. Training Efficiency & Locations.
    Due To humidity bieng a unknown spell and mage training it can be cast almost anywhere!
    You can Cast it in Castle wars while watching in depth fights, getting tickets or talking to friends.
    You can also cast it at PC If you want extra EXP Or fancy getting void.
    Here is a basic set up for PC.
    Just whip out dds and if you dont get upto the 50Hits use the secondary weapon, then get casting.
    Also another reason why Pest Control is amazing for this is not only because you get points when you win to spend on EXP, but you also get some of your cash back per round.
    Now you may think that lets say your lvl 100. Thats 1k each time you win, which is 9~ Free casts.
    It all adds up.
    6. Tips & Tricks.
    Due to the "recent" Release of the steam staff you now have a fire/water staff in 1. Nifty eh
    It costs Aprox. 900k and if you decide to do alot of Casting all those fires add up eventually,so it can save you quite a bundle in the long run. Also once your done with it you can pop it back in the GE to be sold.
    7. F.A.Q
    Is it really cheaper than alching ?
    Lets do the Math then.
    Nat = 300Gp Yew long = 650Gp Total = 950GP
    Yew Long Alchs for 768Gp Which is 132GP Loss, and cannot be done in Pc,Cw,Da.
    While 1 fire = 10gp 1 astral = 100gp = 110 loss per cast. While you can make cash back at Pc, which would almost break you even.
    How Much Exp Difference between Humidify And High Alch?
    Non at all
    Alch is 65Exp And Humidify is 65Exp
    For Lunar Diplomacy It says i need 60 mining, can i have 59 and use a dwarfen stout?
    No unfortunatly not. You need the lvl of the skill and will not work with stat-boosting Equiptment
    I Know that one by Personal experiance.
    8. Credits
    Chris Wish - <3 Even though he doesnt know it, he was the insperation to me for this guide.
    Star - You know who you are, Thank you for all the help with the Format and bieng awesome.
