In sonic 2, sonic destroys the death egg and tries to escape, at the end there's a flash then you see sonic floating in outer space. The real sonic died in the explosion while a fake Metal Sonic knock off jumps out.

This sonic is a clone. He lost his memories due to falling so fast towards the ground.

He thinks he's the real sonic, but he's really just a clone.

This is why Sonic can be in space, etc.

I dont have Sonic2 and I know hes not a clone. None of the Sonic characters are clones.

Also, in the end of both neutral endings, Robotnik clearly states that Shadow and Omega are his creations, and that Shadow has no past and is just a copy of the real Shadow. And also, at the end of Iron Jungle, and after you fight the Egg Breaker, Shadow (while chuckling like a maniac) has visions of being in a tube in a row of tubes containing Shadow Androids. Though this may be disproved by him being found in an entirely different location, he could've been relocated.

well, if anyone here has played the game sonic adventure two battle and beaten all three stories then, if you look when shadow is falling down to the Earth, he is still in his super (or hyper) form. I don't know if anyone saw that...

and relax shadowgirll10123. I don't know if anyone knows if he really died or not...


Edit: I just now rembered something! in sonic 2 if you get all of the chaos emeralds then he turns into super sonic when tails gets to him!!!
