Grandia III Impressions SPOLIERS |
|
I would like to give my review on this game, please do put in your opinions. Basically...I'm disappointed in general with the game. The whole plot was very bland and chicle and character development was horrible I thought. There was also PLENTY of plotholes that were never brought to light...
1. Whatever happened to Kornell? 2. Whatever happened to Scmditt? 3. Why did Smcmitt go all the way to the Snow Town? 4. What was Rotts/Miranda&Alfonso doing all this time? 5. What was that guys (who betrayed Emelious at the end) point for being in the game? All he did was stay slient...betray...die. Nice background story. 6. How did Emelious manage to magically fully heal right after that guy stabbed him? 7. What is that THING (snake) Emelious rides around? 8. What was that masked man (with the skull)? No plot or anything about him. 9. What was Alfina doing in the first place in Anfog island? 10. What was the purpose of Violetta...how did she meet Emelious and the others? I really thing they should of just called this game Grandia Xtreme 2 instead of III.

good luck with getting answers to all of those, poor plot and character development are one of the aspects that i disliked about this game. and especially character development for the villains, pretty much non-existant. the story wasn't even that good to begin with so leaving many components of it unresolved certainly isn't going to help.

Which is why exactly I thought to myself after beating it "why oh why", the only thing fun about the game was the battle system (as usual in Grandia games). But like I said -- they really should of just called it Grandia Xtreme 2 instead of Grandia III for horrible plot and character development. I really hope this game will not go the way of GameArts' LUNAR series, but judging from this work it may not look so good for the future of the series. Personally I still think the original Grandia is the best title to date.

never had the pleasure of playing any other grandia titles but with all the negatives that can be said about this game i still think it has a very solid base to work from. i had a lot of fun playing this game (mainly for the battle system) and would like to see future installments that improve upon those said negative aspects.

quote Will_TechMy questions exactly... Just joking, but I don't thought Grandia as a story series, but I really like it's battle system because there's not many RPGs out there now that makes you use your brain. Hmm....there are only 4 things I like about Grandia 3.. :-
1-Its opening song....I have to admit it, it's kind of catchy.... 2-Its battle system......I've played a lot of RPG's before and this game's battle system is kind of, well,interesting.. 3-Its graphics.....Well,technically, it's a little better than average...not like SOME RPGs...= 4-The enemies......they're kind of cute in some ways... Besides that, the game is pretty boring, and leaves you with couples of question that haven't even been solved
