re: General Discussion

Well I got it through on Monday, and didn't rate it much higher than the last one. But now that I've spent every available moment on it, I love it. Thought it was quite easy, but now I'm doing objectives on rank 10 I'm finding some Crashes very hard. All in all, give it 9/10.

re: General Discussion

I like it a lot, but the cars you begin with all look the same and are pretty slow. Live is fun, but the one thing that pissed me off in B3 is back in Revenge - the fact that you can't stay logged into Live when playing single-player. I HATE THAT!

re: General Discussion

Yeah that pisses me off too, by the way love the banner crispy

Also can someone explain to me how the online ranks work? In the last one it was simple, you had a rank in the world...easy. Now you have 2 ranks, but they start at 50 and an ELO rank? I am confused, please explain how they work...thanks.

re: General Discussion

Hehe, thanks

Not sure about the ranking system tbh, underneath Rank in lobbies it says something like 50/47 or something, and I not understand this.

I'll look into it tho.

re: General Discussion

Well I think one is for race and one is for crash, but what I don't understand is why they start at 50 and why there is an ELO rank as well. Why can't it just be like Burnout 3 and have a worldwide rank. As in I was 300 in the world, thats simple and everyone understands it. I suppose EA had to mess something up though didn't they

re: General Discussion

Yeah I think that's it. On a Crash note, I think the newer version is much better than Takedown's. Mainly because positioning your car's angle in mid-air is just damn cool.

re: General Discussion

Yeah I am glad they got rid of those multipliers etc. and just put in a target car, I think that is much better. Also the jumps in the crashes are cool now like you said. If you do find out what the ranks mean exactly post here mate cos I really want to know. I have looked on the net but can't find anything out. I guess as the game gets older or someone makes an FAQ for it I will find out, just confused at the moment lol.

re: General Discussion

The ranking system works pretty much just like Halo 2's, only in reverse, as in the lower your number is the better. The yellow number is your race rank and the red number is your crash rank. I'm still not sure about the ELO though.

re: General Discussion

This game is f'n metal!

I love it, all of the things that annoyed me in B3 seem to be gone.
The traffic checks are a godsend, in the fastest cars on B3, in heavy traffic you crashed so much it spoiled the race, but now you can get in the right-hand lane and it doesn't matter too much if you hit a car, I haven't tested this out in a hypercar yet, but it should be better than B3 at any rate. Still have to watch out for the big ones, though!
Being able to get takedowns with traffic checks is good too, love the idea of crashbreaker takedowns just as much.
Crash mode is a lot better, I hated the emphasis on the 4x multiplier, now you can take full advantage of the tracks, which are now completely insane.
The shortcuts work a lot better than I thought they would, not least because they are easy to notice and provide some awesome jumps and takedown opportunities.
Burnout: Revenge has far exceeded my expectations.

re: General Discussion

Yeah I would have to say that I am quite pleased with it. I had previously heard that it is more of the same but I guess that is no bad thing if what has come beforehand is really good.

It was awesome on live last night! Having a race with a bunch of genuinely nice guys on White Mountain listening to my custom soundtracks and getting pumped was awesome! One of the best live experiences I've had in a long time.

re: General Discussion

Hell yeah, this game's a freakin blast once you get a party full of cool people going! I was up from 1am-7am last night playing with some of the best players out there, like ICEMANmc and LINC78 to name a couple. One of the funnest times i've ever had on Live.

Wow. ok I just played a bunch of games with the #5 ranked guy JOYROCK, and this guy is insane! I used to play Burnout 3 with him a lot and I could compete with him most of the time, but this guy's just insanely good at Revenge. There was a few races where I didn't wreck at all and he'd still be 2.something miles ahead of me. I did manage to beat him once only because he wrecked right at the end of the race and I was able to take advantage. Only two other guys were able to beat him in a race, so he was pwning us pretty badly. And everyone in there besides me were top 100 players, so it's not like the guy was pwning a bunch of nubs or anything.

Haven't played online yet, although it sounds awesome. Been concentrating on single player, of which I'm up to 76%.

How long has the game been released in America? Because it was only released here on Friday.
