Try My Formation |

cant get a picture so will just describe it the best i can.
goalkeeper and flat back four. two DM's, both in the middle. one MC, right in middle of park. AML, AMR, both pushing inwards diagonally til adjacent to.. FC, middle of the frontline. inspired by liverpools current way of playing. this formation is absolutely watertight and i think brilliant for newly promoted sides. your defence doesnt have to be anything special at all. nor does the DM, you beat the offence mainly in numbers. obviously talent doesnt hurt. wingers need pace and striker must be strong and holding up the ball. KEY MAN: the MC, in my example, i used kim kallstrom, and he is also my captain, but whoever this is, but be a great passer of the ball, have great composure, vision, creativity. would also recommend xabi alonso, cesc fabregas, andres iniesta. your offensive play goes through this man but he is also a protection for your defence. this man cost me 4.3m. worth every penny. try it out, see how it goes. currently on a 7 match winning streak since testing it out in the league cup. only conceded once in that time and scored 2 in every game bar one, which was vs bolton wanderers playing 4-1-4-1 defensive.

1 upfront does work against a lot of weaker teams, I tend to find though you get walloped by the better clubs if you dont push them back into there own half so I tend to have 2 strikers, a pair of wingers and an AMC working to make things happen.

quote morewoodsee i find the opposite, with 1 striker it can be difficult breaking down smaller teams but it makes me very hard to beat when it comes to utd etc. saying that, my squad aint class.

quote prestongreenNIIICE! I some time ago played with that tactic with Tottenham. Some way I bought Lampard and he scored 38 goals in 36 games.
