The past few times I've used my xbox, the disk tray dosnt want to eject properly. The first time I noticed it was when I was watching The Departed, and when I was done I ejected the drive. It came out half way, but the movie was still inside. I had to put it back in, and shake the xbox a bit to get it to come out. Now it happend again to me, except it just wont eject. I can hear it unclicking, but it just wont come out. I didnt have a disk in it, so that wasnt getting jammed, and I took the faceplate off, and that still didnt fix it.

I have it standing up, and its been working fine since I got it; no RRoD, the dvd drive is just hanging up on me... Any idea why? or how to fix it?

Is it in a public area like the lounge room, or your bedroom? If it's in a public area, standing vertically, there's a high probability of a family member or roomie or whatever bumping it accidentally and standing it back up, thinking nothing of it, when they probably completely knocked the disc tray out of alignment. But the Xbox 360 is very delicate, mine was knocked over ages ago, and it wrecked the disc tray, so I had to send it off to get it fixed, but luckily, unlike everyone else, I bothered to get a 3 year warranty so it was free. So, if taking the face plate off doesn't fix the problem, or gently jiggling the tray to re-align it doesn't help, you'll have to send it off, and when you get it back, don't stand it up vertically because it's far more prone to (obviously) falling over.

My disk drive jams too, only when there isn't a game inside of it though. What I usually do is push the xbox360 part of the disk tray when its opening. If its like mine its work eventually

Its in my bedroom, and not in a location where it will get knocked over. Its flanked by my TV and monitor, and theres no room to lay it down on my desk. Everytime my sister barrows it I have her lay it down. I've never had a problem with it being knocked over or anything.

It works fine reading disks, and loading the tray, it just has trouble ejecting. If I cant get it fixed, I'll send it off..
