Ok. I am getting my 360 within 4 days. But I need to figure a good first game. I will not have it hooked up to Live just yet. I need to get a wireless network adapter first. Cause the room It will be in is directly under the room with the computer and the connection. So. Based on that what out of these games is the best first game. Also, these are games I DO like, so just say what you think.

RPG: Mass Effect(maybe)
Elderscrolls IV: Oblivian

Misc:
Assassisn creed[not sure what class it fits into lol.] Bioshock

Shooters:
Lost planet
Rainbow six Vegas
GRAW 2
Battlefield2: Modern combat [I have the PC version, but I can't play it on very good settings]

Ok. Tell me what is the best choice, What I want to know is, fun level, replayability, Length [oblivian is excluded in that area, I KNOW how long it is] lol. Looks are excluded, though good visuals are nice, I know what all of them look like.

One last note, I do not want any of these "get what you like" answers, they are not helpful. OK. Thank you for any answers.

Definetly get COD4, Bioshock or Assasins Creed.

You're probably going to want a game that will last awhile, seeing as how you're spending so much on the console itself. I was satisfied with the replay value of Gears as my first game, but might I also suggest Saint's Row which is now at a bargain price or one of the lengthy action games you've mentioned (Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect). You'll get a lot of replay from the shooters too, but the Achievements tend to go quickly and you'll probably want a new shooter within a couple of weeks-if you're like me.

You can suggest saints row, but my parents, the assholes the yare, will not let me have anything remotely like GTA. And Saints row falls into that catagory.

For an RPG, I'd have to say Oblivion. I have way over 250 hours logged and the entire is just stunning in all aspects. Don't get me wrong, Mass Effect is awesome too, but Oblivion...

The 360 version of BF 2 is really nothing like the PC version, FYI. Defnitely not near as good either.

You'll probably get bored with Assassins Creed. If you want a free-roamer, get Crackdown. It's mindless fun that I still haven't gotten bored with.

Online? Well...CoD 4 and Halo 3 are both excellent online. For a final answer I would say Halo 3 but if possible, you should most definitely get both.

I wouldn't reccommend either of the RTS' you named. If you want a console RTS, wait for World in Conflict, Universe at War, Endwar, or Halo Wars.

If you're into mech games, I loved Chromehounds. Though I'm not sure how many people still play it online.

But out of all of those, I'd say Bioshock is the best one to get first. It's pretty lengthy (20hrs) and the story and the atmosphere are of the highest quality. I think pretty much everyone will agree that Bioshock is something that must be experienced.

I would personally go with Mass Effect for a first. It's the best of both worlds, RPG + Awesome space shooter. The main quest can be fairly short (but hey, it's an RPG sidequests are where you're going to get the most play out of it anyway).

If youi want a bargain priced game and something that will last you a long time, I would go with oblivion that was my first game and even if you get bored of it you will always go back and play it cuz there is just so much to do!

assasins creed is first class

Oblivion has more to do that Mass Effect, but it gets so much more boring over time IMO. i have yet to get bored of Mass Effect and im on my second playthrough, at almost 50 hours probably.

Mass Effect has far superior combat than Oblivion for one thing. its actually a lot like Gears' combat, only a bit better, since you can actually control your team mates, unlike Gears where they run around like dumbasses and get all killt.
