re: 360 disc fixing hints

I've taken both Halo 2 and Halo 3 into a local game shop and got them resurfaced. That's the only thing that's worked for me when fixing them after the 360 had them for breakfast.

They both run smoothly now, and a couple faint lines are apparent on the disc, but they don't harm it. It cost me $4 each, though.

It depends what'cha got around you. I don't know what else will work, honestly.

re: 360 disc fixing hints

Go to a shop were you can rent games, rent one of them, swap disks, go back to the shop an hour or so later saying that you've rented the game but the disk doesnt work, they'll replace the disk and it will look genuine and you wont have to pay the charge for returning a faulty disk when "its their fault"

My Need for Speed disk cracked so i did the same

Karma's going to kick my ass but, meh

I heard that using a banana also works, but never tried it.

Yep, it works like a charm. Well, most of the time.

Toothpaste huh? Funny. I have a thing at home that will polish the discs and fills in almost all scratches. Maybe look into buying one of those, or bring it to your local game store and ask them to do it.

re: 360 disc fixing hints

I've tried everything with my Halo 3 disk. My 360 ate the disk alive and now it doesn't work. I've gotten it to work by using one of those Disk Doctor things before, but after I eject it from the drive it won't work again.

re: 360 disc fixing hints

Oop, sorry I didn't reply sooner, Tommy.

I took my Halo 3 copy to GameStop, and they actually told me to go to another store that had a machine that resurfaces the discs. It wasn't even their branch, but they were glad to help. I'd assume taking it in would be an option.

They could tell you where to go or to get the *bleep* out. Either way, worth a shot.
