Whitey Cord Broke

Okay so you know those red, white, yellow cords that you plug into the tv...
Well I had the yellow and white plugged in and i accidentally hit the white one and the pointy thing that inserts into the tv broke off. It was stuck in the socket so I pushed it all the way back into the tv so i can stick a new cord in it but what color cord can i use to replace the broken white one to get the same effect. Or do i have to buy totally new cords?

Sorry if this is hard to understand i wish in a rush because i am leaving atm.

I think your only option would be to replace them. I think you might be able to find A/V cables at GameStop.

the red hdtv one?
or the red audio one?
if its the audio one, than there is going to be sound problems, and if its the hdtv one then just use the composite cables and play on video 1 instead of composite 1. ms cables are like 20-40 bux depending on where you look.

You've broken one of the audio channels. (red & white are audio channels of left and right). If you can stand it, you can still just plug in the red and yellow ones, albeit with mono sound until you get the cords replaced, but other than that you need to replace the cord completely.

Damn whitey.

re: Whitey Cord Broke

The white cable is for audio.

Yellow is video
Red and white are audio.

So without it you'll only get sound from one speaker, which may sound wierd.

If you have an HDTV (in which you should be using Component or HDMI), most have an optical audio in.
If not, I'm afraid you're stuck buying a new cable.

You can pick them up cheap on ebay or something..

Yeah, your TV sucks.

Just plug the red cable into the white hole for now and use the money you were going to spend on a new set towards a new TV.

Not really. I bought my 27 inch SDTV in like 2006 and it came with only one audio port.

But yeah dude, get rid of that shit as soon as you can. The difference between that and hi-def gaming is night/day.
