If you played the demo, you would know that they are part of the U.S Army.
i dont think so, i never saw anything in the demo that made it apparent of that. plus they werent wearing the new digital camo that the US Army is now using, and like i said they didnt have a US flag patch on their shoulders, which if they were going for accuracy, ALL US soldiers have. so if they are really supposed to be in the Army, then they completely failed in the realistic uniform department. This is what it says on the official website. quoteWelcome to the 222nd Army battalion, B-company. This is where the Army rakes together all the insubordinates, hellraisers and troublemakers that won’t fit in any other unit. When the Rangers and Deltas are too expensive to waste, these guys are the first ones in. They’re called “Bad Company”; a mismatched bunch of rejects selected to serve their country as cannon fodder. This isn’t the kind of outfit a lot of soldiers would join voluntarily. Getting transferred to “the B” is a punishment and a way for the generals to put all their rotten eggs in one basket. No one starts out in Bad Company. But for some, this is where they end up.

Eh, just played the demo on XBL (i don't play campaigns on shooters that much, just XBL). I find it to be similar to Battlefield: Modern Combat, but with a different control scheme and updated graphics. Some of the vehicles have the weirdest handling though (Boats that can go from 100mph to 0 in 0.002 seconds?)
I'm not going to buy it, though this is largely a matter of opinion. If you want a shooter (once again, i'm only speaking about XBL) that captures big-scale warfare as it "really" is, BF: BC will be a great choice for you. You'll be scared sh*tless when on foot, you'll run away like mad at just a glimpse of a chopper or a tank if you're in a Jeep, you'll get sniped from god knows where, teammates will just essentially do everything but what seems to be contributing to what you're planning to do (though they have their helpful moments), essentially, war as ppl claim it to be, the hellish event that no one wants to witness.
If you want to just have a shooter that you can relax with, with a very High-Def, Arcadey feel, but enough challenge and initiative to keep you going for a lifetime (or at least until Nr. 6) just stick to Call Of Duty IV imo. Note that CoD IV also has it's downsides, like immature gamers, racist ppl, glitches, "nooby" weapons, ...
(Another reason why i'm not going to buy this is because it releases the same day as Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath, which i've looking forward to more as i'm a RTS fan with a crappy PC. )
My apologies for the long post, but i feel it's justified and anyone who reads through the whole thing has earned a beer or my respect .

I just *bleep*ing love the destructible environments. I don't have Live right now, so I can't try online play. I just found the gear that lets you call mortar strikes in the single-player level and I just completely leveled the village. I love blasting all the walls and roof off a house.

The only thing that made it feel any different than any other military shooter was the destructible environments, which really aren't that cool. The combat feels like your average shooter. The hit detection is as bad, if not worse, than COD. The whole game seems based around the tanks. And unless you have a Rocket Launcher, you're probably not gonna take em down. AND if you have a rocket launcher, you don't get any other useful weapon. The whole game seemed based around who had what vehicle. The only time man to man combat was involved was while planting charges on the boxes, which only takes 5 seconds anyway. Then you sit in a tank and kill anyone trying to diffuse it. So in my opinion, it's just another dull, uninspired military shooter, that tries to use the perk of destructible environments to make it seem unique, which it still fails at.

The hit detection is fine really. Its just that the demo has balancing issues. The firearms are weak, the players have a lot of health, the vehicle weapons are strong. It makes you feel like you can't do anything without a vehicle really, but that is sure to change once you unlock more powerful firearms. The game is similar to Halo 3 in the aspect that its important to aim at the head when you can. It's not like Call of Duty 4, where you can shoot anywhere in the upper-body and expect a kill. I've also noticed you have to lead your shots quite a bit, which makes it seem like the hit detection is even worse than it actually is. As for the multiplayer being revolved around vehicles; That one particular map in the demo was very vehicle-based, but I'm sure there will be maps in the demo that aren't as much. The map in the demo was huge, even by Battlefield standards. Most of the popular maps back in BF2 were still quite large, but they didn't allow vehicles to dominate very easily. The urban areas in the best maps were pretty compact, making vehicles not as useful. Also, the more you play the game, the more you will unlock that will help defeat vehicles. Such as the laser-target device and the land mine. So really, I wouldn't judge the game by the demo. You either need to rent the game, or maybe even buy BF2:MC for a better impression.

Fine, if that's the kind of gratitude I get for explaining my opinion thoroughly, I'll limit myself to one sentence answers or even unrelated answers. Do you feel the same way to reviews? Or any kind of magazine/newspaper?? Many others post long posts like that and get appreciated for them, but noo, i get bashed. Anyway, it's not bad, but i'm not going to buy it, just rent a couple of times or so, it's good, but not that good.

I think most people dont get what the game is trying to do.
They just go "Oh wa1t it dose nt ply like C0d 4??? b0ring."
I frankly think its WAY better than Cod 4, Its alot funnier.

Agreed. To me, Battlefield games at first seemed like whoever had the tank came out on top. If that's what you think, download the BF2:MC multiplayer demo. There should still be some people playing it. You'll see that virtually anyone can counter a tank.

yeah no joke. its actually kinda easy to kill a tank on foot. since lots of ppl use Demolition, i always get totally hammered by RPGs when im inside a tank. so its almost like you dont want to use a tank most of the time just cause of the likelihood of someone popping out behind a wall and RPGing your ass.
also, they really need to come up with a better counter for the helicopters. ppl are getting really good with them and can fly around killing shit right and left and the only good counter against choppers is the Flak cannons that some bases have. however its way too easy for the person in the chopper to bomb the person on the Flak turret and/or destroy the turret along with it, then there is nothing left to counter choppers, since there only seems to be 1 of those per base.
a HUGE improvement on the helicopters would be to only let the Attackers spawn choppers, like the Defenders would not get a chopper spawn at all in their base. Defenders could still of course use a chopper but they would have to fight to get to it, rather than being handed one. cause what always happens is a Defender gets into a chopper and goes on a massive killing spree on the Attackers as they are in the open, undefended and trying to make it to the next base, with almost no way to fight the chopper since they dont have access to a Flak cannon. thats by no means an equal game set up between Attackers and Defenders especially since the Attackers only have a certain amount of respawns.

they do get artillery, but 1) the artillery does absolutely nothing to airborne helicopters, and 2) the Defenders can steal the artillery pretty easily from them. i have stolen it from the Attackers several times only cause the guy using the artillery is the only person in their base most of the time which makes it child's play to steal it from them.
