I heard that fall out 3 is basically oblivion with guns. I loved oblivion and am really hoping this is true!

Does anyone know whether it could be as immersive as oblivion?

It will be. And possibly more immersive.

yeh its basically the same set up as oblivion.
i never played oblivion but ive read that the way ur character 'evolves' through the game is the same as in oblivion.

any idea what rating its gonna be (UK)??

Plus it's overtly violent. Dismemberment and gore on par with Gears of War.

It's not exactly 'Oblivion with guns'. The physics are the same and there will be alot of skills where you'll see similarities to Oblivion, but other than that I think the combat is completely different.

From what I understand, the combat can be played like a normal FPS game, or you can use a turn-based system in which you lock on to specific body parts to deal the most damage and strategically disable your enemies.

We'll its more immersive then oblivion. At E3, they were showing a demo on G4 showing how to build your own weapons out of scrap parts found throughout the map. He made a semi automatic rocket launcher that shoots teddy bears. Very cool but highly ineffective.

When i say immersive, i also mean the HUGE amount of quests and thing to do that were in oblivion.

You think fall out will have as many quests or sub stories?

also during the demo seeing how your in post apocalyptic Washington you could go to the Washington monument and ride an elevator all the way to the top or go to the pentagon and join a group of ppl (forgot name of group) just like in oblivion in the arena or the assasins guild
