but seriously, there are a great many reasons to get a 360. They're much more reliable now with the upgrade, there's a great library of games to choose from, and they're getting cheaper (if not already).
Some great games have already been mentioned, and there are a whole slew of amazing games that have yet to come out.

Bioshock (if you wanna play it now)
Mass Effect

Also, yes the new 360's have falcon chips in them which lessen the possibility of RROD occuring.

The first time I saw this thread I thought it was about religion. But yeah I had a smiliar problem. I was selling my Wii and I need to find out what console I should buy, 360 or PS3. All the good games, the controler, and the console in general made me want the 360 so I got it and look at me I friggen love that thing to death.

Forza 2 was released around this time last year, so I imagine it'll be a couple of years before we get another Forza game. If you're into your simulation racers though, Forza 2 is a great game, and you can pick it up really cheap now too.

So why are you going for the 360. Of course the online is better at the moment but being patient for the next couple of months will produce Home which will implement a ton of new features for PSN. Trophies may be nothing at the moment but after homes release pretty much all titles from Fall 2008 onwards will have fully interactive trophies which can be used in Home. The online is free for PSN but not on XBL, rumours said XBL would be free soon but alas only for Games for Windows which is basically XBL for PC which brings me onto my final point, exclusives. If you have a high spec computer there is really no need to dish out for another console when you buy pretty much all of the 360's decent exclusives for PC including Gears, Mass Effect, Bioshock and many more. Gears 2 will probably port to PC too along with the long awaited Halo 3. PC ports may have more features than the original 360 versions anyway including an extra chapter in gears, the expansion added in Mass Effect and so on.

To conclude my advice is to hold onto your PS3 until home launches later on in Fall. If you still want a 360 after Home then get one.

Also the PS3 is a reliable device. Me and six friends have had ours since last November and not a single error has occured, no freezing, no sudden shut downs, no overheating apart from myself because i hadn't even read the instructions on the console safety and always turned it off at the power switch instead of shutting down the HDD first which meant the next time i tried turning my PS3 on it wouldnt work; it was as if it had burnt out, I will tell you how i solved it in a mo. Also the PS3 generates no whirring sound unlike the 360 that sounds like my nan's lawn mower and it overheats like a bitch even when situated my PS3 is. One of my other friends however decided to bag a 360 instead of a PS3 last November (that's when we all decided to go next gen). He has been through three 360s already and says dispite it being the superior systme at the moment its just too much hastle to maintain it.

Also from what my friend has told me, Microsoft are rude and unreliable. He returned his console to them which cost him a fortune to bag up and post, then they hassled him with dates, receipts and porduct numbers incase he happened to be lying that it was his console. He had to phone MS support a few times and described the guys at the other end as "impatient, foreign and totally illegible" he later went onto say that they didn't know anything about the 360 and how to advice him on fixing one. Anyways, three and a half weeks later it came back and broke only two days later...

However in my case, I phoned SONY straight away told them what had happened and they simply asked me for my details and told me that as soon as my PS3 got to them with a note they would send me a new one back, and what do you know; they did!

Thats BS PB. MS Pay for RROD, And pay for P&P. The new falcon chip produces less heat, and lowers chance of RROD ALOT.

It seems to me like you are just trying to make him not buy an xbox for stupid reasons. What does it mean to you?

And that article is complete BS alot of it is crap reasons.

I can go and find something about sony pissing off customers, but I wont because im not a fanboy like you who feels the need to prevent people buying the other console.

Guys calm down the kid just wanted tto hear are thoughts not start shit. Damn, listen the RRoD isn't a big problem now a days. The 2007-2008 consoles have the Falcon chip. They almost stop the RRoD 100%. I mean it is your decision. I have been a Sony dude all my life and I switched all my thoughts from Sony to Microsoft right after I got this console. I can freely say that I'm a 360 Owner and I love it.

Lol, i didn't mean to get carried away on RROD, i personally don't think it's a big deal either. As long as it is a problem caused by the console and not me; I'm fine. I may not be familiar with the 360 system but I vaguely familiar with XBL as i have a few titles like Gears for my PC which have "games for windows".
