I think the 360 will die by next year too. I just watchet a 5 min trailer of MGS 4 for PS3 and too me, the GFX look alot better than 360. Also in IGN, they has 2 articls, ones title PS3 Vs 360 and Nintendo Rev. Vs 360. 360 got beaten by both but thats just what anylists say.

ammad, from a pure hardware standpoint, the 360 will be as overwhelmed by the PS3 as the PS2 was overwhelmed by the original XBox. Did this mean that SONY was immediately ousted from the console business? Of course not. I might agree with you that the hardware edge could do Microsoft in, were it not for the fact that they are obviously in this console war for the long haul, not for the sake of getting their feet wet, so to speak. When a company like MS puts the kind of resources into a product, almost any product, it will succeed more often than not. The fact is that regardless of any technological edge that the PS3 will have over the 360, you should consider the fact that there is an advantage to being the FIRST of a particular generation, and that edge, of course goes to Microsoft. Not only that but the 360 is a high quality product, and high quality products, as a genital rule, succeed, regardless of the competition.

Sony need to watch their dev's too. I mean if dev's see their contract (or however it works) coming to a close, or a new one offered is not as much as they want, then they might go ask MS how much they are willing to pay. I mean take a look at companies like rare, you could argue they made up for about 70% of the 360 launch lineup appeal with PD0 as the big one and supported by kameo.

So all I will say is that sony need to think how they can keep all the series/dev's that they have got without possibly paying stupid amounts of money to keep them.

I think that, just like fans, developers become loyal to a particular platform and not just for the money. Lets take Rockstar for example. They have clearly stated that they enjoy making their GTA games exclusively for the PS2 (and now PS3) and only porting them over to the PC and XBox later on. I think that sometimes companies develop relationships over years and that becomes sort of like a friendship. Although, admittedly its different in business, because in the end, its mostly about the "bottom line". However, I think that a good deal of the developers that were loyal to Microsoft in the last generation of consoles, will stay loyal to Microsoft, at least with the titles that started out on the original XBox. The same is true for SONY and Nintendo. There are just companies that have a preference for programming on a particular platform, for whatever reason. Yes its about money too, maybe even more so, but don't underestimate the power of "tradition" in this discussion.
