As we saw with the PS2 and Xbox (and the PS3 and X360 are supposed to be closer than those two), the graphics difference is unlikely to bother that many people until the two consoles are having every last drop of power squeezed out of them a few years down the line, then I'll be doing what I did last year and buying the other consoles with the classics they've gathered over the last few years. -------------------

And the Graphics card is there to assist the processor with its FPS calculations. why would the games suck? i remember earlyer on in the year i had flu or something. i was looking on the internet and i found a text adventure (remember them!) of hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. no grapics what so ever!kept me busy for days until i got better! (well acctually i got really stuck, i forgot how hard them old games were!) anyway about the ps3 i read somewhere not long ago it was going to be about £400 ???

Okay, on a related, but slightly different note, has it occured to any of the fanatics in this thread that all the fanboys, whether XBox fanboys or Playstation fanboys, are completely missing the point? I mean lets say that I was a total PS2 fanatic, or in this case PS3 even though it isn't out yet. Believe it or not I would still want the XBox 360 to be an amazing product, even assuming I didn't love my 360 and never bought it in the first place. Why? Glad you asked! Because folks, competition is the driving force behind free enterprise, progress, technological development and the creation of better and better products. Competition is what breeds a drive in people, or in this case in companies to make a superior product so that they can...well compete. Competition is what drives progress and causes an upswing of development, creating the best possible products, in this case, the best possible games and consoles. Let me put it another way. Lets use Playstation fanatics as an example for a moment. Pretend that Microsoft had stayed out of the console business. Further pretend that Nintendo had NOT joined the foray of either last generation consoles or this generation. This would have led to SONY completely dominating the market, and have, in effect, what we call a Monopoly. Now at first glance, if you are a Playstation fanboy, this seems like the ideal situation, but is it really? Look how awesome the PS3 is predicted to be. Look at the feverish work that SONY is doing to make the PS3 the dominant console of the next generation of home entertainment or gaming systems. Do you honestly believe that SONY would be working this hard and meticulously if it were not for both Nintendo and Microsoft creating competitive and excellent systems? Do you honestly believe that without the 360 that SONY would be stuffing millions upon millions of dollars into the creation of their next generation system? Oh sure, a PS3 would be forthcoming, even if you are a monopoly it only makes good sense to create bigger and better consoles. However, it is the direct competition between the three giant console creators that pushes each one to out do one another and sets the stage for a grand battle of the titans so to speak. And in this scenario, who wins? We the consumer win! Why? Because if it wasn't for the PS2 being the great platform it is, the 360 would not be half of what it is! And if it weren't for the 360, then the PS3 would be a mere shadow off whatever it turns out to be in a year or so. Obviously the same applies to Nintendo. So might I suggest that you fanboys get your heads out of your collective asses and STOP attacking the consoles that you do not prefer? Because I can promise you that if YOUR system of choice, whatever it happens to be, whether 360, PS3 or Revolution wins the console war to the extent that it drives its competitors from the marketplace, YOU will be the loser, because you will no longer benefit from the competition that drives both society and human achievement forward! ------------------- It's official. 	Well said Chiro, I hope people read that fully before blindly posting. When people shout at me and say why sell your PS2 if you wanted to play games like DMC, FF, GTA. I reply, money, pure and simple, I wanted a xbox for the online and halo etc... so I had to choose, when I can afford all the consoles, I will get them as there will always be one or two games AT LEAST that I will enjoy on them. But no, I am not saying I don't favour consoles as I do, obviously I have to weigh up which to get when I can't get them all. Chiro, bill said hes stopping your paycheck, luckily I am only taking a 27.5% cut due to this post. ------------------- My Public Workout Journal
