WTF???!! Memory unit game saves question. |
|
OKay I am getting my second 360 this week, and so I decided to copy all my saves over to my memory card so I can go back and forth between my two 360's in the office and at home. For some reason I cannot seem to copy my San Andreas save to my memory card. The ONLY option the console gives me is to "delete"!! ------------------- ![]() It's official. When you save it in-game, can't you select where it's saved to? Instead of straight copying it, just go in the game and save it to the MU... If that works, I'm not sure. You might be SOL dude. ------------------- ...by the way bro, I always take my pants off to play Gamecube, so I hope that's cool...

Yeah I think this is yet ANOTHER example of MicroSCUM screwing the consumer. Unless I am wrong, it looks like you cannot copy from the HD to the memory unit on XBox games. So basically its a useless save, if you are STUPID enough to buy two 360's, like I am. ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Dude, half the games on the original Xbox wouldn't let you transfer saves from the HD to the MU's... Like Burnout 3 and KOTOR 1 and 2, amongst others. Not even sure about GTA games on Xbox, I haven't tried. If anything, that's an issue with the developers, not Microsoft... ------------------- ...by the way bro, I always take my pants off to play Gamecube, so I hope that's cool...

Well yes, because even though I think they handled issues like the ones I complained about almost criminally poorly, and I am no fan of MicroSCUM, I am still a gamer. And right now, the 360 is the best console out there and the only next generation platform at this point in time. So while I HATE Microscum and the way they do business, I am not going to boycott the platform. That would be cutting off my nose to spite my face. So at this point, I will USE my 360's, but I will be rooting for and supporting SONY and even Nintendo in every way that a consumer can, to win this console war. quote SlackerSlacker, I don't believe that's a developers issue. I tried doing it from the Dashboard. So while you were right about some saves not transferring to the memory unit in the original XBox, one would have thought that MicroSCUM would have invested 20 or 30 cents into FIXING the problem on the original XBox of not being able to transfer saves WITHIN the dashboard from the HDD to the memory card. But hey, that's just me! ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Redemption, I want my $7.00 an hour!

Well, you could just buy a Core package and use the one HDD you have and bring it back-and-forth between the two consoles... ------------------- ...by the way bro, I always take my pants off to play Gamecube, so I hope that's cool...

re: WTF???!! Memory unit game saves question. |

And that's PRECISELY what I am talking about! I considered this option by the way, but I don't want the Core Package. IF the answer to this dilemma is as simple as NOT HAVING a HDD in your 360 to begin with, then it is NOT a developer issue, and MicroSCUM should have made the data easier to transfer from media to media (or HDD to memory unit). In other words, if I could simply BYPASS or shut off my Hard drive, then the game would simply save to the memory card (one would assume, anyway). So, ispo-facto, why is there NO WAY to FORCE the console with a HDD to save to the memory unit in the dashboard? Seems to me that this was a problem in the original XBOX, and MS could have remedied it, if they actually gave a rat's ass about customer satisfaction that is! ------------------- ![]() It's official. I think it's probable that having made the HDDs interchangeable, MS just thought that the MU would become pretty much useless once you had a HDD. ------------------- ![]()

It's most likely an issue with backwards compatibility. I doubt there are any Xbox 360 games where you can't transfer saves from the HDD to the MU... ------------------- ...by the way bro, I always take my pants off to play Gamecube, so I hope that's cool...

I'm sure it is a backwards compatibility issue. My question is WHY you cannot simply copy the raw data from the HDD to the memory card, irrespective of backwards compatibility. This is just another MicroSCUM screwup in my opinion. ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Redemption, I want my $7.00 an hour!
