Alias is only going to say how bad it is because it was really buggy during launch, which most consoles are. Then he will say the graphics suck even though it is a true fact that developers were only given a few months to learn the kit. Then he will say live sucks because he can't win a freaken game.

Well graphics are not going to get to much better than from xbox. Unless they are capable of using gold wires so things can be processed better or they invent some cool new thing the graphics are at the apex of our time.

It's just like the PS3. The PS3 is supposed to have a manufacturing cost of $900 dollars right now. But speculated in a year the manufacturing process will drop to $320 three years after launch. That's one reason why accessories are so high, they are able to manufacture most accessories cheaper and make profit off them.

Every console developer has to sell the consoles at loss at launch. It's just how it goes. Becuase they know customers can't afford to pay manufacturing costs and especially not prices above manufacturing costs.

It's all about time, money, and resources. The XBOX360 has been obviously rushed to beat the PS3. Which seems like a very stupid idea. Because the XBOX360 has just been plagued with shortages and they won't really get as big of a headstart as they would have liked to because way more than half the people that want an XBOX360 won't get one soon enough to fend off the PS3 wave. Even so, there are a lot of people waiting for the PS3 to come out before they make any next gen purchase at all.

Rushed again when they decided, bah, we'll just release the HDDVD drive separately, that's always cool. Another thing to have attached to my console, very stylish.

They've made a lot of stupid decisions and they definitely don't have any killer aps lined up for the XBOX360. Halo is crap, everyone realised how much of a letdown Halo 2 was after the hype died down and they all realized the only thing HALF decent about Halo 2 was the multiplayer and even that gets old. Metal Gear Solid 4 is going to sell PlayStation 3's, guaranteed.

A ton, same with any new technology (not Nintendo , I'm no fanboy, but I have never heard of a Nintendo breaking). The thing is both companies are pushing current technology as hard as they can for as little money as possible. Result is that consoles break.

Also, the HD-DVD is not a necessity, it's just nice if you own a 360 and don't want to pay a ton for a standalone player. My 360 is a games console, and the DVD9 format is fine for playing games.

Actually it's pretty factual that after Halo 2 a very large number of Halo fans started to realize that Halo 2 was quite mediocre and lost some of it's credibility. Even so, there's no doubt it'll sell 360's to some people.

Metal Gear Solid has an amazingly large fan base, it puts PGR3, PDZ's, and definietly Condemned's fanbase to shame.

Besides, you definitely took my comment too literally. Of course these games WILL sell 360's. They're launch titles. But there's a big difference between SELLING 360's and selling 360's. If you get my drift. There are a lot of people willing to buy a PS3 just for MGS4. I personally am a huge fan of Project Gotham Racing, HUGE. I just wouldn't spend all that money on a 360 just for PGR3.

Now if you want to be ridiculous about it and put my whole perfectly valid post into the trash bin just because you found my Halo 2 statement to be a fanboy based statement. So be it.

However like I said, there is a great number of people that Bungie has let down because Halo 2 wasn't all they had hoped for despite all the hype. Which is exactly what it was. Hype. When people got Halo 2 they were in awe, everyone for the most part. However after a month or so after the hype died down a lot of people started to realize that the game was mediocre at best and could have been a lot better.

Gears of War, Mass Effect, Splinter Cell 4 and Halo 3 all have the potential to be killer apps.

How is Splinter Cell 4 going to be a killer app? Xbox 360 isn't the only console it's being released on.
