*The Longness* I'm just wondering if the following only pertains to me: Just about everyone on my friends list have had some form of headset trouble. While about 40 or 45 of my friends (out of 90) have experienced complete headset failure. I had always bragged about how well I take care of my things and how nothing in my possession never breaks. One by one each of my friends had new mics sent to them or were forced to buy a new one. Much to my dismay this week was my turn. Pretty much we've all had the same problem, we sign on one day and it gets "static(e)" or "clicky". A couple of guys often joke around that Microsoft planned this on purpose so we would buy new, hopefully the wireless, headsets. For a while I laughed but I'm started to wonder if this has any validity to it. It is to late for me to send my headset in to get a new one. I wonder.....

*The Shortness* Has anyone noticed an abnormal amount of headset breakage amongst yourself or your friends? I have.

I broke my mic a couple nights ago trying to beat Noob Saibot on Ultimate MK3. Damn that *bleep*er was pissing me off! The only way to fight him (for me cuz I only have 1 controller) is to beat the game and pick the fourth box, the number 3. It only lets you fight him once and if you lose you have to beat the game again to fight him, and the guy's damn near impossible. I finally beat him with Scorpion after about 10 tries.

There seems to be a lot of mic problems going back to the original Xbox. I think the 360's mics look a lot cheaper and more breakable than the Xbox's did. But even so, I, nor anyone I play with on Live, have ever had a problem.

Yeah, I had a similar "play with the cord" deal with my original Xbox microphone.

But I have to say that I have broken three Xbox 360 headsets. All due to me either throwing or stepping on them, so yes I see a huge increase in mic-breakage... but what does that have to do with anything?

Silver service is free. All you have to do is create the xbox live account and have the highspeed connection.

I've stepped on mine a few times but havn't done any damage to it. I almost broke my ps2 headset like a dozen times and it still worked but I lent it to someone and it like exploded in their ear and silver stuff (I assume mercury) came out. They went to the hospital lol.

What is this? Conspiracy theory? Xbox Live mics break. They aren't high quality microphones. Sorry to disappoint you. It has nothing to do with wireless launching, period.
