Okay so earlier this week I bought two cards for 1600 Marketplace points each. I scratched off and used one of them on Monday and decided I would wait until later this week to use the second one. Well just a few minutes ago I scratched it off with my house key but it ended up scraping off the first section of numbers and letters and now I can't figure out what it said. Has this happened to anyone else before or does anyone know what I can do to use this card? I paid $20 for it and do not want to get nothing from it.

u can try to bring it back to the store and say that you scratched it too hard or you can lie and say that the numbers looked like that when you bought it


but keep in mind, legit story or not, alot of people pull of scam like that they bring it back to the store so chances of you getting a refund is quite slim

you can tough it out and try to really see what the numbers you scraped off and then register it....... it may take awhile..

Yeah I thought about taking it back to the store but I doubt they would believe me. I can see parts of the letters and numbers but not enough of some of them. I mean I know it's my fault and I'm not trying to blame it on anything I was just wondering if there is anyway I can still use it? I was wondering if the number in the bottom right corner of the card could be of any help.

They would most likley just consider it "your fault", and not take it back.

Well, can you scan the card so we can see it? After you scan it, just go to paint and erase the other numbers so we don't steal your code

I would but I don't have a scanner. It is the first 4 or 5 numbers/letters that I can't see, or the first section of them. I can read the last number of it but not after that.

Do you got a digital camera? If so, take a picture, and upload it.

I don't but my friend does so maybe next time I see him I'll be able to.

are the characters completely scratched off or are they partially visible?

actually i would consider calling 1-800-4-MYXBOX. then you can talk to someone who actually knows whats going on. what might end up happening is you would send them the card and they would send you a new one once they validate it really is scratched.

dont try to cheat Microsoft either, it wont work. they obviously can easily check anyone's account and see what codes have been entered.

Friend had a same problem but with a 3-month code.. He emailed M$ and they had him upload the card/code and they.. resent him the code (fixed up version).. its nice when M$ actually does something nice

oh, yeah they can probably tell you the missing parts of the code if you tell them the rest over the phone.
