Well, you've probally all heard the rumours of "No man, don't get it, it gets really hot and breaks" True.. it gets WARM, just like the PS2, but they're onto the 4th batch, so they've fixed all the heating problems.

It's a great system, with a great community to go with it, it features Xbox Live as you may know, where for a small yearly price, you can game online with all your friends.

There's nothing really bad about the Xbox 360 itself... nothing, i can't think of anything that demeans it's value.

The games selection is great, consisting of Gears of War, Oblivion, Dead Rising, and a shite load more. The graphics are great, and you'll surely like them.

I hope this will help you, and ask anymore question if you like.

Cheers.

Tim.

re: buying a 360

I wouldn't really call the yearly price small, but meh thats just me...I don't play games online anyway ^_^;;

Just stats on my console; X-Box 360 premium, which I purchased in Canada (where I live of course)...I got it a month or so ago, so I havn't had any issues...

Pros:

Good game selection I guess, I have Oblivion (which I've spent many hours on), and I rented Gun (unlocked all but 4 achievements in a 24 hour period), Free Demos on LIVE, and many videos are also free, downloadable content (Costs anywhere from around $1 US, to about $3 US), and X-Box Live Arcade (games range from about 200 Gamer points, to 600 or possibly more)...Wireless Controller, Play Music (Through Computer, USB Device, or CD), play WMV files, and some other stuff...

Cons:

Gets noisy sometimes, can get pretty warm, kinda bulky/heavy, the bloody power cord is big...Kinda pricy, if you Get the Premium console, Plus 1 year warranty, and a game, all at once....Still a lot cheaper then the PS3 anyhow ^_^;; You need the Media Remote ($30+ Tax canadian I think) to play DVDs with convenience (have to use the on-screen interface to do anything, without it, no controller shortcuts)

Hope that helps ^_^;;

re: buying a 360

Hmm I was just going to make this same topic right now. I'm a Sony fan and always bought Sony systems (well onlt PS1 and 2) but I've got a Nintendo DS too. And about PS3 I am really getting pissed off and disapointed with all Sony has been doing. So what would you Xbox fans say to me to convince me to buy one X360?

I am a Sony fan myself, and really thought I wouldn't like the 360 that much, but I was wrong. I don't know if your getting online, but the marketplace is awesome and I love the achievements. The games are really great. At first I thought of buying a PS3, but 600.00 is really alot, and the 360 is probably good enough for me not to even bother getting a PS3.

re: buying a 360

Having owned every console of the last generation and ending with the Xbox (which was then, in turn, sold towards the purchase of a 360), I am EXTREMELY happy with Microsoft's look towards online gaming.

That is the biggest pro there is. Xbox Live is the standard for an online gaming community. I probably hit Xbox.com to check up on my friends list, messages, achievements, etc more than I hit up my e-mail.

The game selection is mediocre at best, but will get better when the titles of '07 come around.

Graphically it is amazing, but you should expect that from the next generation consoles.

The system doesn't efficiently use it's allotted memory. Sending people multiple messages can crash their system if the notifications are on, and the customization of the display is NOTHING like what they originally were talking about doing.

The GUI is effective. It flows. The blades are very sleek, but there are many features that can/will be added with additional firmware updates.

Microsoft has initiated a microtransaction system to buy content online. Really it's stupid and just a way for EA to rip it's customers off, but if you enjoy paying for content that should have been included in the shipped game, then go for it.

For the price tag, it is a relatively good deal, much more so than the Playstation 3, but less than that of the Nintendo Wii. The real question you have to ask yourself is, what type of gamer am I? 'Cause that's the only statistic that matters.

re: buying a 360

Yeah that's pretty much my problem, being my favorite game Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts and games from Playstation universe. And Wii looks really original and fun but doesn't really has my kind of game. For me X360 looks like the most mature of all the three consoles, maybe more hardcore and stuff but that's what I think ciz of the type of games it has i.e. Gears of War, Halo, Dead Rising etc. But Pplaystation has those kind of games itself but has more of other types being the most balanced of the three IMO. And you're saying that the greatest pro is the online but I will not be getting the online most likely. Does it really makes most of the console's qualities and pros?

The entire 360 GUI is based on Xbox Live. Without it you really have no reason for videos, demos, or the arcade.

This is all free, however, as long as you're not playing with other people online, but not connecting your 360 to a broadband connection is a waste of a 360.

And what does XBL silver really has? Like, you got the demos, videos and arcade as A Definite Product said?
