RPG's for 360?

Hello all, i'm quite new to the Xbox world, having just bought one today after much deliberation between the 360 and a Wii (it seems like i picked the better one), but are there any good RPG's out for the 360 already, or are there any planned for the near future?

thanks in advance.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the best one out (and probably will be the best for a while) on the 360 right now in my opinion.

RPG/Adventure
Not too sure what's coming out soon but Mass Effect (March 2007?) is an RPG and that looks very cool.

re: RPG's for 360?

There are apparently only 4 RPG's out for the 360: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Final Fantasy XI (online), Enchanted Arms, and Phantasy Star Universe (also online I believe). Oblivion looks like the only one of the four with nice reviews.

If you're looking for a console RPG then you really can't go wrong with Oblivion. Though if you try it first you won't want to try anything else, imho.

Oblivion isnt as good as people say, it gets boring kinda quick and the story is lame.

re: RPG's for 360?

Not only is Oblivion the best RPG on the Xbox 360, it's one of the best RPGs I've ever played. The story missions all together may not be very long, but there are HOURS and HOURS of side quests you can do. Definitely believe the hype.

Enchanted Arms seems like a good RPG, but there's nothing about it that makes people go "WOW!". From what I read, it's just a good solid RPG.

FFXI is only online, and from what I've heard, it takes a looonnggg time to get into the game. And on top of that, it's not a very good MMO to begin with. But hey, you may love it.

PSU seems a massive MMORPG that's actually pretty good. Even though it takes a little while to get into due to the lack of the tutorials, it isn't as rough on you as FFXI. Right now, it seems like the game is having some technical problems that are bogging the game down. But it seems like SEGA's coming out with several patches to fix them.

Don't listen to this guy. He's obviously not an RPG fan.

I personally like Oblivion. But the RPG is starting to lose popularity which is sad.

I agree. Oblivion is a great game, it's just not a great game for very long.

Personally I always got the feeling that I was doing things just for the point of completion. The quest lines are very short. There are a lot of other nit picks I have with the game, but I'll save them for later.

Oblivion is a great game and I had a lot of fun with it for a couple weeks. Other than that I haven't played any of the other current-gen RPGs.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is out, isn't it?

Would you consider Marvel an RPG?

If so it's a good choice.

I don't know, but it's in the RPG section. I haven't ever played the game.

I was posting RPG's listed by IGN. Didn't even consider what Neo's RPG games were. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is more of an action game with RPG elements in it. Seems like a cool game though.

Marvel UA is an entertaining enough game but there's no real depth to it, it's pretty much a rental choice.

re: RPG's for 360?

Oblivion IS a good game, being a person who plays J-RPGs mostly (Final Fantasy, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, .hack, etc), I found it very good...its an epic (huge world, long story) RPG...there is a ton of stuff to do in it...

Blue Dragon - It isn't out yet, but it is supposed to be good (good director and I THINK Akira Toriyama did some of the character art? Either him, or some other famous japanese artist)...Its supposed to be 3 disks long, with great graphics and large world...only about 40 hours of play, but that alone should say how fancy the game is, seeing as its 3 disks long, yet only an average length story ^_^;; I think it comes out in North America in like 4 months or something?
