Drunk 360

For the past few days, my 360 hasn't been able to work out which way it's oriented. It randomly goes into fits of switching between Horizontal and Vertical, especially at the slightest vibration (Me typing on the desk is making it go insane at the moment).

Any idea how to fix it? =\

Hmm, I'm not sure what's causing it, but I think the light switches like that when it's turned on it's side. When it's upright it should illuminate corresponding to the controller on the ring.

But yeah... it's very odd. o___O

Weird thing is, when I go and tilt it while it's on (Dashboard, no disc in drive) it reacts perfectly.

re: Drunk 360

Have you tried setting it down horizontally to see if it still works?

I know that might not be the permanent solution you're seeking, but at least we'd be able to determine whether it's the vertical orientation or the 360 itself that's causing problems.

Assuming that your room is somewhat level and not resting at a 45 degree angle, I don't know what to think, unless whatever device inside the 360 that determines the console's orientation has been knocked out of place the slightest bit.

re: Drunk 360

That's the weird thing, when you put it horizontally, it doesn't change until it's nearly horizontal, yet ejecting the disc tray or typing on a keyboard on the same desk is enough to set it off while stationary =\

Is your keyboard wireless? It might be messing with it if its close.

Ghost in the Shell is the scientific term , your 360 is infected by a thinking program who wants to move at its own will. jk

That's what it sounds like and that is a definite no-no. Also it looks like your 360 has little to no ventilation where it is. Try putting it in a more open spot and always leave it horizontal.

Yes, as is my mouse, but it's been fine for the past year, only a few days ago did it start to mess up. Just tapping on the desk is usually enough to get it to flip again, so it's not the keyboard.

The angle is misleading, and on the right it has an inch clearance, plenty to get some air in. It's been in this position since launch and has never had any overheating problems. Horizontal isn't doable, there's nowhere to lay it flat. It's more of an annoyance (Is very distracting ingame) than a major problem.

re: Drunk 360

The answer seems pretty simple. The machine is just off. Maybe it got bumped or randomly interfered with, but it's just off. If it's not effecting gameplay, then there is no need to worry about it. Consider it an anomaly. And feel special.
