Well then that settles it, the Dual Shock/SIXAXIS is better than the 360 controller.

re: CNET - X360 Controller = Best Ever

Its funny because I used to think the DualShock/2 was the best controller ever. Then, I got the Logitech wireless PS2 controller and became very comfortable with it, as its form is more rounded to your hands. Since the PS3 controller is the same as the DualShock, I actually had to get reintroduced to it.

Now, obviously I've never held the PS3 "boomerang" controller in my hands, but from the gif tutorial that was floating around the net at one point, I came to the conclusion that the way it was meant to fit inside your hands is the same way that the grips of the 360 controller is fitted. With the DualShock, your palms sit "off" the controller in a sense, because your hands are rotated more toward the back of the controller as a result of the placement of the sticks. The 360's controller has more of an ergonomic build and the entire grip of your hands wrap around the whole controller, just like how the PS3 boomerang was supposed to be. Sad thing is, all the bitching and prejudice killed it before the rest of us could judge for ourselves.

All that said, I think the 360's pad has the overall best feel over any other controller.

The only problem I have with the PS3 controller is the position of the left stick. Just doesn't feel right. I know it's meant to fit in a hand but it never sat right with me.

re: CNET - X360 Controller = Best Ever

I always though the Xbox dual-analog sticks were better placed than the Dualshock controllers. I like triggers/buttons rather than buttons/more buttons. The 360 controller fills my hands more than the Dualshock/Sixaxis.

For some reason, I love playing with a dualshock/sixaxis for sports games, but for anything else, it's the 360 pad.

It's preference, of course.

Initially I had the opposite reaction when I bought my first XBox, years ago. I hated the placement of the stick because I was so used to the PS2's controller configuration. In a couple of months I got used to it though and now I have no problem with either controller's analog stick placement.

The only thing I just could never, and I mean NEVER get used to was the A, B, X and Y button on the original XBox controller. LMAO before the S controller came out, I literally had to look down at the *bleep*ing thing half the time to make sure my right thumb was placed right, because of the way that the four buttons were rotated compared to the PS2 controller.

I remember when the S-Controller came out, I think I got down on my knees and praised Jesus!

i actually remember having pains in my fingers from using the PS2 controller. After hours and hours of playing NBA Street, which required a lot of use of the shoulder buttons, my fingers would get sore at the joints.

i haven't had a problem with the xbox controllers though

This is when you need to take a break or invest in some icy-hot or something.

re: CNET - X360 Controller = Best Ever

The original XBOX controller (before the S) was an abomination. I only bought an XBOX after the S Controller was released.

Also I was reading in a PS magazine an article comparing the 2 controllers (PS3/360) and they totally trashed the XBOX saying it couldn't be used by humans and the rumble was so primitive and out-dated. They also said (about the 360 controller)that priority was given to the analogue and that the D-pad was in a spot where it couldn't be used. Firstly, shouldn't the analogue have priority? Secondly, the place where the 'd-pad' couldn't be used' is the same place the PS3 controller has it's analogue.

bu the PS3 (PS2 especially) is a smaller pad to the XBOX's and the d-pad and analogue sticks are a lot closer together.

re: CNET - X360 Controller = Best Ever

I think the 360 controller is comfortable to hold, but slightly prefer the SIXAXIS.

I HATE the ABXY buttons on the Xbox and 360 controllers. I also prefer the analog stick placement on the PS2/PS3, but that's only because I've used it TONS more than the Xbox/360 controller.

The boomerang controller was awesome though. I got a chance to test it out, and it truly did kick ass. Too bad people couldn't shut up and quit complaining about it before they ever even got a chance to use it. It was really comfortable and ergonomic, something the Dualshock and SIXAXIS can't really say...

Where did ya get to use the boomerang...I was really hoping that they'd release it.
