I borrowed the game from a friend of a friend. It seem okay, but seemed like it was made for online play.

It just seems like the single player campaign was shoved in to cater for those offline.

Every game I see seems to be made for online play. It's annoying seeing as I'm not online.

Dude, this is absurd. lol Seriously, if someone pays money for a product, they should have the right to critique it even if they can't create a "better game". Or do you somehow disagree with this?

Seriously, I have nothing against Gears and will eventually buy the game, but I am just saying.

But he's not "critiquing" it, he's saying it sucks without any reasons or explanantions, that's not critiquing, it's just being an ass. Unless he can give reasons, he needs to either make a better game by the public's standards or he needs to shut up.

Really without online at all? - your missing all of the autopatching and updates/free content for games and the console itself.

You don't need a paid subscription if you don't want to physically play online, but it it wise to be connected.

Gears is a great game, easily one of the best co operative games ever made. There's not much life in it though.

I'd say rent it if you aren't sure, in fact I'd say rent it fullstop to everyone, I hate the multiplayer on gears.

I agree with JPS, the online sucks compared to real games, like UT and Marathon.

this game didnt tickle my fancy everyone was rating this perfect or REALLY EXTREMELY close ot it but yet I was really let down

I'm sure if you knew anything about my "credibility around here", you'd know I don't expect short answers and smilies. Quite the opposite, actually.

Perhaps if the idiot were to contribute to the thread rather than change it's subject, I wouldn't feel so annoyed. Anyone with half a *bleep*ing mind could tell that his comment was boring.

At the beginning of the thread, I didn't ask for one word answers. It's up to people to put what they want. But I think being annyoed is understandable when the subject is needlessly changed. I sought a general view from a variety of people about Gears of War, NOT Halo.

I don't need you to tell me how to gain credibility on Neoseeker. I don't want it. I find it sad that you would, to be honest.

I'd be excited if you didn't post about Gears anymore, because both here and in the Gears forum you've done nothing but troll and state how horrible the game is while invoking Halo as an example of its shortcomings every time. That would excite me, but I can't speak for the thread creator.
