Does anyone know what Xbox games you can play on your 360 with a 360 right out of the box? What I'm trying to say is, my system has NEVER been updated for backwards compatiblity. Halo will work fine on it. Doom 3 will not. Now, I very much want to play Halo 2. But I don't know for sure if it will play on my system. Does anyone know? I checked the list at xbox.com but it's useless for this case. The list does not tell you when each game was added. It just lists all the games that work after the latest update. So that list is worthless to me. Is there somwhere I can check reverse compatibility and be told when each game was added? Halo 2 is the only game I'm interested in on Xbox 1 anyway. So if anyone knows if it will work on my never updated system please tell me. Thanks in advance.

I was under the impression that the game updates which came pre-loaded on the HDD of the premium system were Halo and Halo 2. But you may want to research to confirm that.

Yeah, I've been looking into it, but I havn't found much of anything. I have a premium system, so if what you're saying is true then I can ply Halo 2 on it? Halo 1 works fine on my 360 so I don't see why 2 wouldn't, but I wanted to post it here to see if anyone knew for sure.

Maybe one of these days we'll get broadband internet and I can get Xbox Live and not worry about these things, haha. I rented Doom 3 today and it wouldn't work. I thought I had read somwhere that you didn't need an update but apparently you do.

You know you can download the updates from Xbox.com, burn them to disc and install them that way right?

Yeah, but I have a crap old computer with no CD burner and dial up so it would take ages to download the updates.

As with Sort, I can't confirm that but I do believe someone commenting on the fact that they had received a dashboard update and they had played a demo disc. So it is entirely possible.

Yes, they pack updates. I got a dashboard update but no BC update. Lucky me, huh? Anyways, I'm gonna try to get over to my uncle's as he has a CD burner and see if I can get the update there. Does the July BC update cover all the games on the BC list?

I'm not sure since I have Live! but I would imagine if you dl it from Xbox.com, it would be the total update and not just an incremental one.

do they also have updates for individual games or is that included in dashboard updates. im wondering because i've been out of dsl for a few months and need one to play bullet witch.
