There is something weird with my 360. When I watch movies, I usually turn on a subtitle once or twice to see what they said because sometimes I can't understand them. Well it eventually comes back on but in French. Is there a way to fix this?

Maybe for a particular movie you were watching subs were only available in French. Some movies are like that.

The thing is, the subtitles are off. Then they just come back on in French...

This happens sometimes on all DVD players. It would just go in French because maybe the disc is defective like that.

Did you try turning it off in the DVD Menu? Try that. Sometimes subtitles only activate within the DVD and not the XBOX360 DVD player control.

this is why i like to make backup copies of movies, and take out all audio and subtitles except for English, and sometimes, even those (the English subtitles). then theres no possible way for subtitles you dont want to mystically come on.

Another solution to this I found. You can delete the Video Bookmark Data in your Memory System Items. That may also help for this.

I got this, when I was watching Lost. And whenever those damn koreans spoke it had their translations which were done by abc and then the subtitles in spanish or something when they spoke english. It was stupid because they were all off. I could tell it was the 360 doing it because the subtitles were much bigger than the ones on the show.

when it was translating from Korean to English, that should be layered into the video itself rather than having their own subtitles come up, because it was layered into the video on the show, and it would be pointless for ABC to enter translations into the subtitle layer when they're already there. hmm, well what DBZ said should work.
