re: HDMI

Good question, I want to know that too because I just got a HDTV downstairs, a samsung 32" and it plays in 1080i but not 1080p.

I was going to get the same tv for upstairs too (for the 360) when I can afford it. Also can anyone recommend some good TV's that are around £500 or less? You can get the samsung one for £510 without freeview and £519 with freeview.

re: HDMI

The P refers to "progressive scan" and the I refers to "interlaced". Basically P is better because all of the lines of the resolution are refreshed at the same time. Whereas with I, all of the even lines are refreshed and then all of the odd lines are refreshed. Just remember that P is superior to I and you can't go wrong.

He needs HDMI to view HD.

well, he needs a composite for HD, then.
Do you actually know anything about this topic? It would seem not...

Yeah, I have the 40" version of your TV downstairs. It can play 1080p which is the fullest form of HD, not much of a difference at all to be honest.

re: HDMI

Yeah. It works with 1080i.

You can get an ex-display unit for £265 on eBay. That's what I did, and it's as good as new.

re: HDMI

Yes white goes with the premium xbox but I would also stick to black.

This is quite cheap for a 32" HD but it does not say what it supports, would want atleast 1080i.

re: HDMI

There's also one at Makro for about £297 after VAT.

Can't guarentee what it supports though.

Yep that's all there is to it, flicking that switch will enable HD. Youi may also want to alter some settings on the Dashboard's system settings to change the types of HD, I recommened either 720p or 1080p, I stick with 1080i though. =)

Also, if you TV is Full HD (1080p) it can run the 36o's 1080p option which looks very nice.
I believe that in order to have full 1080p sent to your TV from your 360, you will need to have te Elite with HDMI output.

re: HDMI

Yeah I know, but a 1080p TV runs the 360's 1080p option, which a lot of other TV's don't. It may not make a difference, just an observation.

re: HDMI

is hdtv really that superior to sdtv's?
xbox games already look awesome on my 6 year old sony 27" tv. IS it really worth paying like $1000 just for games to look a little better??
