Buy or Not to Buy?

I've recently purchased a DS and I've been looking for some new games to break it in ^^

I've heard a lot about the Phoenix Wright series and I was wondering if you guys could share what you like most and if it is truly worth getting or not

Thanks <3

re: Buy or Not to Buy?

Hey, Lisa.
Well first off, welcome to the Neo Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney forum.
Well, I believe PW:AA is a truly great game worth purchasing. Not so long ago, I took the chance with Phoenix Wright not knowing whether it'll be good or bad. Well, guess what? I was wrong about both...It's GREAT!
Seriously, I think Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is one of the most entertaining, original, and intellectual video games I've ever played.
You'll play the role of a Defense Attorney protecting innocent clients accused of crimes. You'll test wits with the prosecutor and contradict the witness's testimonies - if wrong - and help get your client get a "Not Guilty!" verdict.
It's only about $20, so it's definitely worth checking in to. I'd also like to add this game will help strengthen your deductive skills.

re: Buy or Not to Buy?

Thanks ^^
Really it's just $20? Wow
It's definitely worth trying out then

It sounds like a unique game
How is the game play? Is it like a mystery game with clues that you have to figure out?

re: Buy or Not to Buy?

No problem, Lisa.
Well, the game play is of RPG genre, so it's sort of like your typical RPG game. Well you'll usually either be in court, or out in the city in different locations that you'll find clues and talk to people in. You'll gather the clues and then the next day you'll be in court defending your client. With the clues you've gathered beforehand, you'll use them to contradict the witnesses in court while they're lying or stretching the truth. That's when the "OBJECTION!" phrase comes in XD. You can also press the witnesses to during their testimonies and put pressure on them.

re: Buy or Not to Buy?

Well then I'm in luck because RPG's are my favorite type of game

I'm guessing it pays to have a good memory to be good at this game (something I lack XP)

So if you think somebody is lying that's where the whole "OBJECTION" thing comes in?
What does putting pressure on somebody do?

re: Buy or Not to Buy?

Well, yeah, good memory is a strong point while playing the game, but don't worry, most of the time Phoenix is self-explanatory on his own.
Pressing the witness will put pressure on them when Phoenix asks them interrogating questions, possibly revealing contradictions. Only object when you're sure you can place the right evidence to a contradiction. When a witness says something like "I used the phone inside to make the call to 911", but a report that's in your evidence states that the house had the power cut off in that time period, you can present that to the judge and put mega pressure on the witness.

re: Buy or Not to Buy?

Oh ok
So you put pressure on them to try and trip them up
This does sound like a really clever game
It's right up my alley

Thank you so much!

No problem.
Well, whenever you play the game I'd love to hear a review from you based on your opinions of this series.
