I need help. I cant beat the mission The Rising Threat. As soon as I catch up with the shuttle carriers they take off and I dont get a chance to shoot them down. What should I do?

Use the k fir to catch up to the plane once u get to the plane go strate up (even if the shuttles didnt lauch yet) and the rockets will go up also. They go so fast they go infront of u. Dont wrry they dont gain maximum speed for a few seconds after they get in front of u. All u have to do is take um out^_^

(, its impossible, i must have played the level 40 times
i shoot the shuttles 4 times with my F-15 and that doesnt take em out, then they fly away.

I finally beat the mission by using afterburners to get up to the planes, slowing down and launching everything I had at them... missles and guns. I then hit my afterburners and launched missle after missle after missle after missle, and finally enough of them hit.
