Does anyone know how to catch the red bomber aircraft? Have tried different aircraft and different patterns...no luck. Thanks.

Sorry I didn't reply to the other message you left. I did it either by exiting and re-entering the stage untill he appeared close enough, or I used the Gradius(?) looking ship. I don't know how I got the Gradius(?) ship either. Sorry. Check gamefaqs.com they may tell how to get it.

I heard that you need an aircraft with a higher range and stealth capability to catch the red bomber. Well that seems to be bogus because I've been trying with my F-22 for two nights in a row. I've been one step behind that red bomber the whole time, chasing it all over the map, watching all my blue zones turn red, and replaying the same boring missions over and over. On the plus side I've got a gazillion points because I've shot down a gazillion aircraft, but I'd rather just reach the red bomber. Somebody out there must know how to do this.

I finally caught the red bomber. What I did was, instead of going right for the red bomber, I went left to the other airbase, looked into the briefings, and played all the missions for that airbase (except for the very final mission, of course.) That's when I went back to the airbase on the right, and found that an extra mission had been tossed in place BEFORE the mission where you catch the red bomber. AHAH! Personally I think that was a stupid way to design the game. So anyway, I played through that mission and then selected the next mission, which was catching the red bomber. I easily caught it within three moves.

After that, I went to the last mission in the game where you have to destroy the enemy's huge, main power contraption. When you get to this mission, select a very fast aircraft because you're going to be evading lots of missles. Good luck!

Is this the double winged condour mission? I cant catch it either! It keeps goin all over the map and I never get to it! One time i got it but I had the wrong plane and couldnt destroy it! Now I cant get to it any more!
