Look...The story probably is this:
"A Giant Yoshi is eating everything in it's sight, someone please stop it!" Cries from the starving people. Being heros, they start climbing the mountain to help. At the top of the Mountain, while gathering Coconuts, Special Berries, or some food source for the starving villagers, the Giant Yoshi catches the scent of the delicious food, and climbs the mountain in search of it. Finally, at the top, while gathering the last food not eaten the Giant Yoshi finds them, and want to eat them with the food.

This is just my idea, tell me what you think

they probably just take it away when your coming down like you thought you win when you beat
