i have just started the game but im a bit stuck on the alien factory bit. Hoe do u get into the factory? and what are the spikes and the lifts for?

You must go through the forest around the factory by making the babies move the platforms across the spikes for Mario and Luigi. In each corner of the top side of the forest, you will have to hit blocks that will open up the door to the factory.
