John appeared once when Naked Snake told Ocelot his name, with a smirk on his face none the less, therefore I never settled on John and besides there's millions upon millions that go by the name John. It doesn't seem right.

As for Saladin, in ancient times there was a warrior whose name was Saladin who was not feared or hated by enemies but respected for his decisions on the battle field.

yeah theres also the part of the game when paramedic asks snake what his real name is, snake cooly says its jhon doe paramedic says sarcasticly "yeah right then my name must be jane doe" or sompthing along those lines. the boss aka the joy also refures to snake as jack a few times also his name has to be jack theres more evidence leading twards jack then tward jhon
